10 Times The Most Amazing MCU Concept Arts Were Not Used In The Final Cut

Fans of the Marvel Universe are lucky to have witnessed some of the most visually stunning events unfold on the big screen. The MCU has been quite successful in allowing fans to see things that are hard to imagine. There’s a lot of background process behind these movies that ensure that fans can absolutely enjoy while at the same time giving them interesting narratives. Almost every one of the major moments from the movies undergoes a lot of pre-processing before being brought to life in the movies. Over the years we have gotten to see some rather exciting concept art for the projects that almost resemble the scenes they were made for. But often some of these scenes didn’t actually make it into the movie and fans are left wondering how they would have worked out. Let’s take a look at some of the most amazing MCU concept arts depicting certain scenes that didn’t make it into the movies.

Thor & Hulk Battle It Out Gladiator Style (Thor: Ragnarok)

An exciting moment in Ragnarok was when Hulk and Thor actually battle each other out. We had seen the duo have a fight in the Helicarrier during the events of The Avengers. But this time around we got to see a lot more hilarious rendition of the fight. Concept art for this moment from Ryan Meinerding indicated that the characters would have appeared a lot more different. Based on this, the duo would have attires that look a lot more different. The way they are dressed it seems that Maximus Decimus Meridius would be proud. At the same time, the duo sport different haircuts that would have affected the way the duel ended up looking.

Hulk’s New Look (Thor: Ragnarok)

One of the most exciting things in Thor’s third venture Ragnarok was surely when we got to see Hulk making an appearance. The fate of this character wasn’t known since the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron. But now we had some idea regarding him after he made his appearance in Ragnarok. While the character appears to have been stuck in the Hulk form entirely, there were different plans for him than what we got to see. According to one of the concept arts for the character he would have had wavy long black hair with a glorious beard. It would have been an interesting sight to see considering this would have hinted at the Planet Hulk narrative.

Vision Defeats Iron Man (Captain America: Civil War)

Amazing MCU concept arts

Civil War was an essential event in the Avengers’ history as it saw the disbanding of the Avengers. One of the best moments from the movie was to be when the two different teams led by Captain America and Iron Man go against each other. While we got to witness some things in the movie, concept art from Andy Park indicates that there were some different plans entirely. This artwork showed Tony Stark being put down by Vision. This does make sense considering Iron Man seems to be attacking Wanda and Vision was already protective of her. Vision was clearly trying to disable Stark’s suit by putting his hand through the suit.

Stark Reveals A Bullet (Iron Man 3)

The third Iron Man film didn’t hesitate to bring to screen every single thing surrounding the character of Tony Stark. We got to see a very closer look at his suits as he had over the years developed multiple renditions of his armors. The most exciting bits from the movie were definitely when we got to see all the suits appear for the final sequence when Stark asks for the “House Party Protocol“. But another suit would have made its appearance in the scene according to the concept art from artist Josh Nizzi. We would have gotten to see the Bullet Armour also known as the Mark 40. It would have made for an exciting chance to see this suit actually make it in the movie.

Wanda Controls Everyone (Avengers: Age of Ultron)

Age of Ultron is not the best of the MCU movies when it comes to the heroes teaming up. The movie introduced us to the characters of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver but didn’t see these heroes use their powers to their full potential. But according to concept art from the movie, we would have actually gotten to see something else entirely in the movie. According to Paulo Giandoso’s design for the movie, we would have to see Wanda Maximoff utilize her powers to put a large number of the Ultron army in her control. This would have actually paved the way for MCU to indicate her true potential.

Mega Ultron Battle (Avengers: Age of Ultron)

Amazing MCU concept arts

Ultron is definitely one of the strongest villains to have appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If things went according to his plans then we might have seen the What If…?‘s Infinity Stone-wielding Ultron actually come true. But instead, we got to see the Avengers battle it out with Ultron’s army. But this battle would have gone differently based on the concept art from Phil Saunders. According to this art, we would have seen Ultron evolve into a multi-armed absolute titan of a machine fighting it out with Iron Man and Hulk. It would have been quite complicated to bring this scene to life and this would have become the most awesome battle scene in the Avengers movies.

Ego Original Design (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2)

Ego is considered to be one of the most despicable villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even though he initially appears to be someone else entirely, the character opens up when he talks about his true plans. This Celestial almost had a completely different appearance when the character was first brought to director James Gunn. Fans were wondering how this character would actually appear considering he is a living planet. Based on this concept art, it seems that the character was planned to have a more other-worldly appearance. It seems to be like some character we might get to see in the Star Wars movies.

Rocket & Thor Fight Giant Serpents (Avengers: Infinity War)

Infinity War is a giant event that had the task of giving us a proper look at Thanos and at the same time bringing together the heroes. It would seem that there is hardly anything that the movie would have left out considering it was an epic event. But based on the concept art revealed after the release of the movie, we would have seen some rather different events unfold. According to concept art, we would have seen Thor and Rocket come across Jormungandr, the Midgard Serpent. They would have been required to battle this beast in order to get away from Nidavellir. This could have actually given us a chance to see a hint of Thor’s wrath.

Doctor Strange vs Mysterio (Spider-Man: No Way Home)

Amazing MCU concept arts

Spider-Man: No Way Home consisted of the largest number of Spider-Man villains coming together. The final sequence around the end saw the three Spider-Men fight it out with villains around the Statue of Liberty. There were many theories surrounding this movie and one of the most exciting amongst them was the appearance of Sinister Six. It seems that we would have actually seen this come true as Mysterio was also supposed to make an appearance in the movie. According to Andrew Reeder’s concept art, we would have seen this villain appear to be fighting with Doctor Strange during the final battle. It would have made for an exciting moment but this would have also taken on the length of the movie.

America Chavez Appears (Spider-Man: No Way Home)

Spider-Man: No Way Home had some of the most exciting events that fans would have never expected to see. Some of the scenes in the movie were actually something that has been executed in the comic books quite a lot of time. This movie already had a lot of packed in it but there were a lot of rumors for a certain amount of characters making their appearance. An interesting concept art indicates that this movie might have marked the debut of America Chavez and this scene would have had quite a lot of characters. The scene would have had the presence of Peter Parker, MJ, Ned, Betty Brant, and Flash. The character of America Chavez would have been played by Xochitl Gomez. We will see her make her debut in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Which of these amazing MCU concept arts do you think should have been used in the films? Let us know in the comments.
