Spider-Man: Into The Multiverse was the very first interpretation of the concept of the multiverse in a movie adaptation and it dealt with the narrative quite brilliantly. The movie was rather popular amongst the audience because the entire style is used to navigate through the narrative of the multiverse. There was a lot of variety in the characters that were brought in terms of their animation styles being merged in a single animated style where the characters had arrived. One of the biggest achievements for the movie was definitely the comic book-like feel is created for the viewer. But there were some things in the movie that touched upon some possible theories that might be explored in Spider-Verse 2.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part One hinted at a possible face-off between Spider-Man 2099 and Miles Morales. That could be because of the temporal paradox the latter might have created.
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse
Considered to be one of the best Spider-Man movies amongst the various renditions that we have gotten to see over the years, this 2018 movie was actually awesome. It brought together every possible element that has been a part of the character’s arc in the comics. Sony worked on the popularity of Miles Morales as the character is also present in the MCU based on certain Easter eggs. It seemed very difficult to bring a narrative like that with so many Spider-People also being introduced at the same time.
But the team behind the project is coming together again for a whole new project that will see Miles Morales in another adventure that will take him across the Spider-Verse. This time they are going to introduce some fresh ideas and a lot more visuals that will serve Miles Morales’ Spider-Verse journey. There are a lot of Spider-Man projects under development and this requires the Spider-Verse movie to be a lot more interesting. The team is actually working at making sure that the sequel to the 2018 animated film will have something special to look out for.
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Part 1
We just got our very first look at the sequel and it has some rather interesting details regarding what we might get to see here. The clip shows Spider-Man 2099 whose presence was teased in the first movie and it is confirmed that he will be a significant part of the new movie. We will get to see new worlds and new variants of the friendly neighborhood superhero appear in the movie. But the chances of Spider-Man 2099 fighting against Miles Morales in the movie might be explained by the possible temporal paradox theory.
We saw based on the post-credit tease of Spider-Man 2099 that the character was a futuristic variant and he belongs to the year 2099. According to the comics, Miguel O’Hara belongs to a time where superheroes are treated as godlike mythical as it is called the “Heroic Age”. Miguel works for Alchemax and this is actually a secretly evil company that ends up experimenting on Miguel thus giving him his Spidey powers.
Miles Morales Origin Story
The movie showed us that Miles Morales actually got his powers due to Alchemax as he was at the very sewer with the name Alchemax labeled there. Alchemax didn’t actually come to much notice until the “Heroic Age” according to the comics. But the movie shows that this company is actually owned by Wilson Fisk himself. We see the spider that bit Miles could have been experimented upon by Alchemax and actually enhanced by the Oz Compound. But that makes us wonder if this experimented spider was from the future or the past. This might lead us to the very reason why Spider-Man 2099 appeared to be fighting with Miles Morales.
We are well aware that this movie actually introduces us to each and every element of the character of Spider-Man’s rendition. This means that Spider-Man 2099 will also be introduced in this manner and thus we might see a mention of Alchemax in itself. There’s a possibility that Miguel might actually come from the future in Miles Morales’ universe. That might explain why Miguel was actually after Miles Morales and he was even seen trying to grab Miles and take him back to the future from where he comes. This might be a sort of initial chemistry between the two characters but following this, we might see them working together to deal with the common enemy.
