The Avengers Problem of Phase 4 Might Explain Why Wong Fought The Abomination

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is definitely amongst some of the best movies that we have experienced from Marvel. The success of this solo venture is an example of what we can expect from the studio going ahead in the future. There is a massive possibility that the movie was responsible for giving us a chance to find answers regarding the future of the MCU going ahead. At the same, it was also able to raise some more questions based on the massive massive events that took place throughout the movie. Fans are busy dissecting every available detail from the movie to find legitimate answers and links that it sets up with other events in the MCU. Let’s take a look at why Wong fought the Abomination in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. It could be because of a major Avengers problem in MCU’s Phase 4.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi was successfully able to introduce us to various characters in the MCU. At the same time, the movie was able to provide some major references to other things in the franchise. During the scene where Shang-Chi goes to look for his Sister in Macau, we get to see one of these major references. Upon reaching there he discovers the massive tournament of fighters that takes place there. We get to witness Wong and Abomination fight it out in one of these tournaments only to realize later that the two characters are in cahoots about this fight.

Why Wong Fought The Abomination

This is not the only major cameo considering we got to see a lot more in the mid-credit scene. Wong again appears around the end and takes Shang-Chi and Katy to the Kamar Taj. There we also get to see two major characters from the MCU, Bruce Banner and Captain Marvel. Wong also discovers while investigating the Ten Rings that they were emitting a beacon. While this scene was crucial to indicate the fact that Shang-Chi is now one of the Avengers there are other details connected to Wong’s appearance in the movie.

The tournament scene was something we got to witness quite early in the trailers for the movie so it was actually a big surprise. But it really left fans wondering why would Wong be involved in this underground tournament and what connections he might have with this. The limited amount of focus given to this scene and the larger story of the plot of the movie didn’t allow us to take a deeper dive into this very moment of the movie. But this does make us feel like making connections to one of the issues that are present in the MCU in order to justify this appearance.

Monetary Issues Of The Avengers

Why Wong Fought The Abomination

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was one of the most important shows in terms of giving us an insight into the world of Avengers. Here we discover that some of the Avengers were struggling for funds with the death of Tony Stark and most of these were heroes who had been on the run for years. Wong is also an active member of the Avengers and hence he might be going through some of these similar issues. Putting up a fight with Abomination that is already staged might actually help him earn some dough to continue with his future missions.

We are well aware that in the very starting it was S.H.I.E.L.D. that was responsible for handling the monetary requirements considering it was Nick Fury’s initiative. After S.H.I.E.L.D. fell during the events of Captain America: Winter Soldier, Iron Man funded the Avengers so that he allow it to continue to operate. Even though Tony didn’t pay for the salaries of the Avengers but it was quite clear that he took care of any other needs of the heroes. But now that he’s gone, Wong, who seems to be occupied in keeping the rest of the Avengers updated with what has been happening, requires to have some means so that he can fund himself and fulfill the requirements for their other needs.
