Disney Plus is riding high with the large number of shows that are coming out in the streaming service. There are a lot of projects set to come out from Disney Plus. Disney owns some of the most massive franchises in the entertainment industry. Marvel is probably one of their biggest items now. The benefit of having Marvel is the fact that the studio is producing some of the best movies and shows and doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. Another major franchise is Star Wars. With the success of the live-action series The Mandalorian, it seems they are going to work on various other live-action spinoffs and original stories. The release date of The Book of Boba Fett was recently announced.
The Book of Boba Fett
The Book of Boba Fett was indicated to be the next major Star Wars series following the Season 2 of The Mandalorian. It was clearly announced in the finale of the latter series during the post-credits scene. In the post-credits scene, we discover that Fett and Shand have killed Bib Fortuna. They then take over the throne of Jabba the Hutt on Tattooine. This is a major development considering it was assumed that Boba Fett had died after falling in the Sarlacc pit as seen on Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. But it seems according to The Mandalorian, Boba Fett had survived and even saved Fennec Shand from her mortal injury in Season 1.
Official Reveal
Production for the series went right away after the ending of the second season of The Mandalorian. It has been four months since the production of the series wrapped up. The official Star Wars Twitter account revealed details regarding the premiere of the series on Disney Plus along with the first poster. The poster shows Boba Fett sitting on Jabba the Hutt’s throne.

Well, he looks nothing short of a bad-ass King! He’d really live up to the hype surrounding him for sure. But he’s not the only one headed to Disney+. You must be aware that we’ve got some more awesomeness headed our way.
Other Upcoming Shows
Other shows added to the roster of upcoming Star Wars-based projects include the return of The Mandalorian with its third Season. The production for the series has already started. Another major show set to come out soon is Andor. This will be a spin-off series based on the characters of Rogue One and it just finished with its production. The show will see Diego Luna produce and also reprise his role as Cassian Andor from the movie. Also, appearing would be the actor who did the motion capture for K2SO, Alan Tudyk. But of all these, the most exciting show has to be Obi-Wan Kenobi which also wrapped production earlier this month. This show will see the return of Ewan McGregor in the titular role and Hayden Christensen will appear as Darth Vader. Both of these shows are supposed to come out by 2022.
Temuera Morrison will return to the series in the leading role of Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen will also appear as Shand, who was last seen on The Mandalorian. The series will see the return of directors like Robert Rodriguez, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jon Favreau, and Dave Filoni. The Book of Boba Fett will be hitting Disney+ on December 29.
