Disney+ is back again with another weekly MCU treat in the form of an animated series. What If…? explores the parallel universes as the name suggests caused by tiny changes in the details of the original timeline. Each episode will explore the idea of the title and thus make the viewer feel more excited about the events that could have happened. Let’s take look at how long is What If and when we’ll get the final episode on Disney+.
What If…? is an animated anthology show with each episode dealing with unique storylines from different moments in the entire MCU timeline. The trailer showed some of the most enticing moments fans had only dreamt of. The entire show is like a tribute to the different unique ideas that fans have thought of or the writers may have thought of while working on the storylines.
When will the episodes be released?
The release of each of the episodes will follow the same pattern as that of Loki. Each episode will be released on Disney+ at 12 am PDT. The first episode was released on August 11 at 12 am. Though it is not entirely confirmed there is a major chance this will be the pattern for the release of the episodes that will be followed. Wandavision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier followed a different pattern of episode release.
Total number of episodes
The total number of episodes released will be 9. This means that the series will go on for 9 weeks. It was initially planned to have 10 episodes, but it is being said that the Covid-19 cut short an episode. While it is already known that these 9 episodes will explore 9 different Nexus events throughout the Marvel timeline. Marvel producers have also confirmed that each episode will be canon and that there is a chance that some of the major plotlines from these episodes could be featured in live-action adaptations.
Release date of the final episode
With a total of nine episodes, the final episode of What If…? will release on October 6, 2021, on Disney+. This number of episodes is equal to the number of episodes for Wandavision. The other two shows- Loki and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, had six episodes each. If the events of Loki are taken into consideration, then we can clearly guess that there’s gonna be a massive link with the events of What If…?.
