Why Does Loki Want To Meet The Time Keepers? Does He Want To Run The TVA?

Loki episode 2 “The Variant” landed on Disney+ and is upping its game of the show. Not too deep in the show and we have already got to see Lady Loki and the entire TVA in pure turmoil. The Sacred Timeline has been bombed by Lady Loki. So this brings us directly to the Time Keepers, right? They are the ones that created the Sacred Timeline. Moreover, the entire function of the TVA is to protect the Sacred Timeline. But that is not it. Lady Loki extracted the location of the Time Keepers after possessing Hunter C-20. And then, Loki also followed her through the time portal. But why does Loki want to meet the Time Keepers?

Why Does Loki Want To Meet The Time Keepers?

Time Keepers, as funnily put by Loki are “three space lizards” who came together to create the Sacred Timeline after the multiversal war for supremacy. They created what we know as the TVA to protect the same. Anyone who breaks the flow of the Sacred Timeline must be arrested and reprimanded. But Loki does not believe that fully. hHeas a hard time believing that three random space creatures were able to create the TVA and take control of all of the time.

So, first, Loki wants enough face-time to understand the mystery behind it all. He wants to meet the Time-Keepers in order to see if the creation myth about them and the Sacred Timeline is true. Considering Loki himself, he’s a master of deception. So he senses that the Time-Keepers are not what they appear to be. So we can believe that on one hand, Loki wants the answers. But wait, there’s more.

Loki, even with his doubt, has agreed to the fact that the TVA is indeed the greatest power in all of the Universe. That’s because he saw the Infinity Stones lying around in a junk drawer. And let me tell you, this 2012 version of Loki’s entire life purpose was to collect the Stones for his master Thanos. But he knows his fate when it comes to Thanos now. So, from here on now, Loki wants the greatest power. He is confident that he can overthrow them if he gets the necessary face-time with the mysterious space lizards.

How Does Lady Loki Fit Into Equation?

Loki episode 2 “The Variant” finally featured Lady Loki, the supposed antagonist of the show. Surprisingly, Loki followed this variant through the time portal, ditching Mobius and the TVA. The explanation for this will be seen very soon. But till then, let’s theorize. Lady Loki bombed the Sacred Timeline with real ease. She did not need any help from anyone and is definitely not scared of the Time Keepers.

The fact that she took on the TVA single-handedly has definitely surprised Loki. Moreover, she showed no interest in his offer to help him overthrow the Time Keepers. So Loki is in a position where he thinks that lady Loki might just be grander than the Time Keepers. And these are three space creatures that can do whatever they want, for example, decided someone’s fate, reset timelines, and whatnot. Therefore, Loki might just be placing Lady Loki above the Time Keepers. It would be fascinating to see if Lady Loki has a plan that’s better than overthrowing the Time-Keepers and ruling the TVA.

Loki vs. Time Keepers

Loki is a power-hungry Asgardian who has always been belittled his life. At least that is what he thinks. But his very little time in the TVA has changed his perspective in my opinion. If Loki ever goes toe-to-toe with the Time Keepers, he would be fueled by the disrespect and mistreatment at the hands of the TVA. Loki obviously has to gain an audience with the Time-Keepers in order to overthrow them.

Moreover, Loki is not your everyday streamline thinking guy. The TVA has revealed his entire life and his ultimate fate as well. Now, he’s a guy who is determined to not make the same mistakes as his doppelganger. Loki is a master at turning things around. He is skilled at improvising and he’d be prepared to pivot based on whatever he learns if he were to meet the Time-Keepers. But ruling the TVA would garner the God of Mischief power over the Sacred Timeline itself.

So this is why Loki wants to meet the Time Keepers. Loki stars Tom Hiddleston as the God of Mischief, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Lexus Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, and Sophia Di Martino, Richard E. Grant, Sasha Lane, and Eugene Cordero in undisclosed roles. But the episodes are available on Disney+, with new ones coming every Wednesday.
