Robert Pattinson May Have Revealed The Villain of The Batman 2 Already
Robert Pattinson is all set to make his debut as the Caped Crusader in The Batman. The movie will see him take on the role after some of the biggest names have been attached to this role. Some of these titles include the likes of Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and Michael Keaton. Over the years, we have gotten to see some really interesting narratives being explored about the character. Most of these narratives have been inspired by some of the most awesome Batman comics. It seems that Robert Pattinson has revealed the villain of The Batman 2 already talking about a certain rogue from the Dark Knight’s extensive gallery.
The Batman
Fans and critics seem to be singing praises for the new take on the character of Batman. The movie will make it through to the cinema halls across the world this weekend. One of the biggest things about the movie was the villain and how the movie was taking on that character. There was hardly any detail revealed regarding the character of the villain and he was even missing from the first trailer for the movie. But in the last few months, we have found some interesting details about the villains for The Batman and we can be sure that it is surely going to be an awesome narrative.
Considering, The Batman is a lot more grounded narrative it was nice to see the villains being picked in the same manner. Though Paul Dano’s Riddler might not actually look the way we have seen the character before, it is going to be an original take on the character. The most exciting bit has to be that this character will be inspired by the Zodiac killer. This villain had fans wondering about the possible next villain we can see opposite Pattinson’s Batman in a sequel. Pattinson himself might have managed to give us a tease about this detail.
The Villain of The Batman 2
A lot of interesting names have popped up regarding the villain for the sequel to The Batman. During an interview with Vanity Fair, Pattinson hinted at this with the Court of Owls being mentioned amongst him, Paul Dano, Zoë Kravitz. The conversation went as follows:
Pattinson: “I was definitely kind of thinking Court of Owls is probably gonna be in the sequel.”
Dano: “Ooo, don’t say it.”
Pattinson: “It definitely seems like– I mean, I am literally just guessing, I just keep saying it.”
Dano: “Court of Owls would be dope. Good thing it’s not in this film [sarcastic].”
Kravitz: “Or is it?”
Dano: “Or is it?”
Other Candidates For The Villain of The Batman 2
In the past few months, names like Joker and Mr. Freeze have been hinted at being a part of the franchise. There was a major rumor that Barry Keaghan who is a part of the movie will be seen taking on the mantle of Joker. Matt Reeves has himself indicated that there could be an interesting take on the character of Mr. Freeze by stating, “I think there’s actually a grounded version of that story, which could be really powerful and could be really great…“.
On the other hand, Pattinson has talked about his interest in the Court of Owls narrative before too. In an interview with the Den of Geek, the actor had said:
I’d love to do something like Court of Owls. There are elements of The Batman which are kind of horror and I think it really feels quite new for Batman.
Court of Owls is the perfect Batman story to be picked on with the grounded tone of Matt Reeves’ take on Batman. It is interesting to hear Court of Owls and Mr. Freeze being talked about considering the latter had an interesting narrative in the former’s arc. Even though there’s no confirmation about a sequel yet, we can be certain that the success of the movie will allow the announcement to be made soon. But until then we have to decipher Paul Dano’s Riddler in the movie.
The Batman will be released in theaters worldwide on March 4.
