James Gunn Reveals How Gamora Could Have Been Different

The world is waiting for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. The movie is literally star-studded, and we cannot wait for it. James Gunn is too solid to be avoided in my opinion, and he has proved this with his vision in Guardians of the Galaxy. James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is the next big project after Zack Snyder’s Justice League. With this, DC becomes more and more promising. Gunn’s new brainchild is a reboot but it is a proper redo. According to the recent reports, Guardians 3 would be the last movie by Gunn in the franchise. But before we see him leave, he has revealed why Gamora could have been different.

James Gunn Revealed Why Gamora Could Have Been Different

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has revealed new details about Gamora while answering a question from a fan from Twitter. He confessed that bringing Zoe Saldana’s character into live-action was a task, and he almost turned her blue. He said:

“The worst. A total pain. I almost turned her blue. But, you know, Avatar vibes.”

Okay, so could you imagine Gamora in any other color than green? In my opinion, it just fits her overall. Even when you see the movies, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1. and Vol 2., Infinity War, and Endgame, she just happens to go with the entire color scheme somehow. But, let’s try to imagine her as somewhere else. Back in 2014, Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development Andy Park revealed an alternate design for Gamora with purple instead of green.

Check it out below:

Gamora looks absolutely stunning anyway! But there’s a bit more for you in the store by Andy Park. This design surely explains how Gamora could have been different. Another version of the fierce Guardian was also showcased by Park, showing off a different shade of green for the character alongside Nebula. Check it out below:

So this is how Gamora could have been different in the MCU. I personally prefer her race to be green. She has a long way to go in the MCU after her reappearance in Endgame. She will make her return in Guardians Vol. 3.
