10 Ways The X-Men Could Make Their MCU Debut

Most of us have been asking a question on why the X-Men did not make it to the MCU. Well, let me tell you that because of some film rights issues, the X-Men characters did not make it to the MCU. But despite that, the X-Men franchise was successful at the box office except for the last two entries – Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants. Now since 20th Century Fox has been acquired by Disney, there have been rumors that there will be an X-Men reboot. So there is a possibility that the X-Men might make it to the MCU movies. Now let’s see how the X-Men could make their MCU debut.

1. Captain America alters the past

Steve Rogers retired as Captain America in Avengers: Endgame. It is a moment that left many of us in tears. The mantle of Captain America was then taken by Steve’s friend, Sam Wilson aka Falcon in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Now in the climax of Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers returned to time to return the Infinity Stones to their rightful places. He decided to stay in the past and live his life fully with Peggy Carter. Now he would not just sit in the suburbs and don’t get involved. There is a possibility that Steve might stumble upon the Mutants and this can introduce the X-Men into the MCU.

2. X-Men Have Always Been in the MCU

The best way to bring the Mutants into the MCU is to show that they were already there. Also, MCU and X-Men have existed in different dimensions. They are still the inhabitants of the Earth. But this will also bring up questions on why they did not appear till now. X-Men’s debut in the MCU will explore how they have been a part of every MCU event that happened till now. The major moment here where they reveal themselves to the Avengers would be a secret war about which even the biggest heroes were not aware.

3. Loki Makes It Happen

Loki was introduced as a villain in the beginning. Despite being Thor’s brother, he always aimed to conquer overall. First, he aimed to take over the throne of Asgard, and later he tried to take over the Earth. He was defeated by the Avengers. But the character is still loved by the MCU fans. Loki’s standalone series has recently premiered on Disney+ and will show a lot of time traveling. So this will be the perfect spot to bring in the X-Men. There is no doubt about the fact that the X-Men regularly ended up being involved in the same type of time-traveling shenanigans.

4. Through the Darkhold

X-Men Could Make Their MCU Debut

MCU has still not answered a lot of questions. A lot of projects have been lined up by Marvel Studios for the future. Now no one knows in which one of these projects, the left out questions will be answered. But WandaVision has introduced a source that will give us a few of the answers in the form of the Darkhold. Darkhold is a legendary and feared book in the pages of Marvel Comics. It is capable of great evil and that depends on whose hands the book is in. The Mutants can be brought into the MCU and the Darkhold might have some information about that in its pages.

5. The Phoenix

The Phoenix saga remains the main storyline in the X-Men comics. In the X-Men film franchise, the story arc was explored two times. Firstly, it happened in X-Men: The Last Stand and then in Dark Phoenix. The 1990s animated X-Men series did justice to the story arc. But the same did not happen in live-action films. For now, the Phoenix enhanced Jean Grey is surely the most powerful being in the X-Men’s world. So she can punch a hole from one reality to the next one. She also might be searching for Scarlet Witch considering her recent powerup.

6. Scarlet Witch casts a bigger spell

The ending of WandaVision saw Wanda Maximoff at the foot of Wundagore Mountain. She was reading the Darkhold in seclusion. The character will be seen next in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness scheduled to release in 2022. But till then there is a possibility that she might create more problems. Wanda recently realized how powerful she is. In the comics, she also stripped most of the Mutants’ power on Earth with just three words. She can easily end up creating the world’s Mutants.

7. Doctor Strange opens up the Multiverse

One of the most common theories about the Mutants in the MCU is that they come from another reality. While MCU fans were watching WandaVision, they were looking for certain signs that Wanda’s reality-altering ways can be Mutants in the MCU. Now the upcoming sequel of Doctor Strange has been titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The role of Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch has been confirmed in the film. Considering the title of the film, Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch would find reality with Mutants and open a door for them to enter the main continuity.

8. Deadpool messes a lot with time

X-Men Could Make Their MCU Debut

When Deadpool was seen with a mouth, he borrowed Cable’s time-traveling gizmo and was jumping around reality. Deadpool was correcting the wrong things like killing his version in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the assassination of Ryan Reynolds before he was in Green Lantern. But Deadpool is not just known for his restraint. He might accidentally punch a hole between his reality and the MCU. This can cause the two realities to become one. Apart from everything, this can be how Deadpool gets into the MCU.

9. Thanos’ snap altered humanity

Throughout the journey of the MCU, the biggest and the major event has been Thanos’ snap. It is the moment where Thanos used the power of the Infinity Gauntlet and wiped out half of the universe. The loss of life was unknown. The Infinity Gauntlet was then used two more times. Firstly it was used to return everyone to life and then permanently destroying Thanos. The explosions of the galactic energy that happened on Earth might have altered the DNA of some humans and turned them into Mutants.

10. The Eternals reveal their existence

The Eternals is currently one of the most ambitious and highly anticipated releases of the MCU. The film will focus on the mysterious race of godlike beings who have been on the Earth for millions of years. The film might also show the evolution and the origins of the Eternals. The Eternals might be the ones introducing the X-Men into the MCU. They also might lead to the creation of the Mutants. Overall, the Eternals might be the ones who have known about the existence of the Mutants since they have been on Earth for millions of years.

So these are all the ways through which the X-Men could make their MCU debut.
