10 Fan Theories About MCU Characters That Might Be True

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been one of the most ambitious projects in film history. Marvel fans, at the same time, can imagine a lot of things in their mind. A few of them have also ended up making their own movies by coming up with their own theories. They can easily guess what might happen in a future movie. They have tried to remain a step ahead of the filmmakers. Fan theories can be strange or nonsensical. Sometimes they turn out to be brilliant. So, here are 10 fan theories about MCU characters that might be true.

1. Thanos controlled his bloodlust on Titan in Avengers: Infinity War

According to Redditor u/bondoh, Thanos showed that he can control the degree of power and can use it to brush away 3 people on Earth. He was angrier when he was on Titan. But he was gentle in the second half of the movie. He did not kill anyone on Titan or Earth. He was close to losing the gauntlet. So, he lost control and pushed out a blast from the power gem.

2. Korg is a prehistoric Kronan

Redditor u/theincredibleshaq says that Korg looks smaller and less smooth in comparison to other Kronans usually seen in the MCU. This might be because Kronans that we have seen besides Korg are more evolved than Korg. Korg might be Kronan’s old version since time progresses faster in Sakaar.

3. The Collector was chosen to search the rest of the Stones for Odin

Theories about MCU characters

According to Redditor u/ValhallaAtchaBoy, Asgardians gave a powerful item to someone who is not trustworthy. But Thor was aware of everything. The Collector was obsessed with collecting. If he had one Infinity Stone, he could be easily driven to complete his collection. This worked in Guardians of the Galaxy, where The Collector contacted Gamora and offered to pay her to bring him the Orb. Without Tivan’s interference, the stone would have gone directly to Ronan.

4. Luis is one of the two Ant-Men in Avengers: Endgame

When he returns in Avengers: Endgame, Scott Lang checks in on his best friend, Luis. Luis might have got his hands on one of the Ant-Man suits in the last five years for continuing Scott’s legacy. Before leaving for the time travel, Scott lets Luis know everything. Luis heads to the new Avengers compound. He shows up sometime after Thanos’ attack, puts on the suit, and hears Scott’s calls for help. So it was Luis, not Scott, who goes to rescue Hulk, War Machine, and Rocket. And he was also the one who was shoving that Leviathan in a portal while Scott was fixing the van.

5. M’Baku becomes the king of Wakanda during the blip

Redditor u/Dreadful_menace says that when T’Challa and Shuri were dusted in Avengers: Infinity War, maybe it was M’Baku who took over the throne in those five years. M’Baku was a match for T’Challa as seen in Black Panther. In Infinity War, Cap and T’Challa outpaced their own army against the marauders. So, M’Baku might have taken the throne as a necessity.

6. Nebula knew the cost of the Soul Stone

According to Redditor u/MrMortsnarg, the Soul Stone needs someone to sacrifice the one they love the most. Here, Clint sacrificed Natasha. It was not a coincidence. Nebula knew how to get the Soul Stone. We saw that she and Rocket were in regular contact with Natasha and Natasha was trying to find Clint. Nebula might have been the one to suggest Clint and Natasha to go for the Soul Stone.

7. Peter leaves hints about Uncle Ben’s influence

Redditor u/ScobyQuinn23 claims that he has a theory related to Uncle Ben. There is a way Peter carries Uncle Ben with him, through the movie references. Uncle Ben loved to share his favorite movies with Peter. The references used by Peter are from those old movies that would have come out when Uncle Ben was around 20 based on Aunt May’s age. This is the reason why Spider-Man: Homecoming starts with “A Film by Peter Parker”.

8. Groot is the descendant of the tree Yggdrasil in Norse mythology

According to Redditor u/JohnCalvinHobbes, it was mentioned earlier that Groot might be related to Yggdrasil. It is a tree in Norse mythology that connects nine worlds. We have seen Groot picking up the head of a Stormbreaker. He chops off his own arm and his flesh instantly binds with it. This might be possible because Groot is related to or maybe descended from Yggdrasil.

9. Odin considered Hela and the loss of Mjolnir as Thor’s final trials

Redditor u/TheMediocreCritic says that Odin designed his enchantments over Mjolnir and Hela to become void after his death. Hela and the hammer’s loss are the last trials that prepare Thor to become the king and save his people.

10. Jane Foster is doomed

According to Redditor u/LucasOIntoxicado, Jane Foster’s Thor would die because of cancer in her second or third movie. It will be based on Captain Marvel’s death in the ‘80s. Her death has been one of the most memorable scenes in Marvel’s history. Because Mar-Vell doesn’t exist in the way he existed in the comics, they can try to replicate this iconic scene with Jane Foster.
