We rarely see a film flop in front of the audience, critics, and the box office collectively. It doesn’t matter if the cast is star-studded not, movies still flop. This happens because a movie requires almost every aspect to be executed perfectly. If anything lacks, the movie suffers. Today, we will talk about those 10 movies that may not deliver according to our expectations.

Fantastic Beasts 3
It really feels like the successful franchise, Fantastic Beasts, might see its darkest day with its third installment. The reason for this is Warner Bros. The fraught personal life of star Johnny Depp – namely losing a high-profile defamation lawsuit related to domestic abuse – caused him to be fired after shooting just a single scene. Johnny Depp was extremely ridiculed. He took to his Instagram publicly announcing his departure from the Fantastic Beasts franchise. General interest in the franchise seems to have evaporated after some of the more outlandish revelations in The Crimes of Grindelwald. It’s difficult to imagine a scenario where Fantastic Beasts 3 ends up delivering the commercial result Warner Bros. is hoping for.
John Wick 4 & 5
Despite the soaring success of the John Wick franchise, it seems like the venture will be stooping low. Keanu Reeves is easily one of the most loved actors all around the globe. John Wick is easily one of his most successful roles. It is being directed once again by Chad Stahelski – who has helmed all three prior movies. But it will sadly be the first film in the franchise not penned by Derek Kolstad. He claims that he was not even invited to the beginning of the film. He says that he has no malicious intent or ill will against the team. But it fairly believable that John Wick is never going to be the same without Kolstad. We can only hope that the further movies deliver like their predecessors. Production recently got underway on the fourth John Wick film.
Uncharted
Tom Holland is high in the sky ever since his portrayal as Peter Parker, Spider-Man. Fans love him now more than ever. But this young actor is not going to limit himself to just one Marvel role. His upcoming flick, Uncharted, does not seem to promise well. There are several additional red flags to consider. Firstly, the movie is directed by the inconsistent director Ruben Fleischer. So we will have to see if the odds are going to be in Uncharted‘s way or not. The script is being written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Their work includes the original Iron Man, Punisher: War Zone, Transformers: The Last Knight, and Men in Black: International. Another strain of inconsistency. Even Holland himself is disappointed by the way he played the character, he said it was “a mistake and…something that I will probably never do again.”
Dune
Honestly, this project does look promising. But if you take a sniff of it, you’ll smell something wrong. We cannot doubt the capabilities of the amazing director Denis Villeneuve. But there is something else that is alarming. The budget is sky-rocketing. It’s a $165 million adaptation of a beloved-yet-niche sci-fi novel. Considering the current situation, it seems fairly difficult for the movie to come out as profitable. It’s also important to consider a recent word that Warner Bros. is still negotiating with Dune‘s production company Legendary Pictures for the day-and-date release. The results will be as clear as the day after the opening week of the movie. Let’s hope for the better.
The Woman In The Window
Joe Wright’s (Atonement, Darkest Hour) adaptation of A. J. Finn’s 2018 thriller novel The Woman in the Window – starring Amy Adams, Gary Oldman, Anthony Mackie, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Julianne Moore – has had a troubled journey. Surprisingly, the movie wrapped up the shooting back in October 2918. but the future saw a series of disastrous test screenings. As a result, Tony Gilroy was brought in to rewrite the script and helm reshoots. After several release date shifts word began to spread that Netflix was in talks to acquire the film, as was eventually confirmed to be true with a May 14 release date now set in stone. But a recent report claims that the new screen tests score almost the same as the previous one. So it is highly doubtful if the movie will even barely impress the audience.
Indiana Jones 5
After more than a decade, Indiana Jones 5 is finally happening. No matter what you made of the fourth film, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the most pointed resistance against Indy 5 notes that Harrison Ford will be 79 years old by the time filming begins – assuming it shoots later in 2021 as planned, that is. Director James Mangold seems like a solid replacement for Steven Spielberg and Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s recent casting as the female lead is intriguingly left-field, this just feels like a project that’s more than a few years too late. It just sounds that the efforts will be exhausting.
The Gray Man
The Russo Brothers are once again teaming up with Chris Evans for The Gray Man. The movie has a stupendous $200 million budget with an all-star cast including Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Billy Bob Thornton, and Alfre Woodard, it is set to be Netflix’s biggest movie to date and intended to kickstart a franchise. Fans have seen their work without Kevin Feige’s assistance, Cherry, and were not really impressed. The movie performed fairly well but was considered average. Hence, fans are dubious if the duo will perform in the same way as Cherry or Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. This could be just another instance of too much artistic freedom being to a film’s detriment. Let’s see what the duo is cooking.
Death On The Nile
Gal Gadot fans are particularly excited for this new flick. But let’s see what could go wrong with Death On The Nile. The movie is a sequel to Kenneth Branagh’s 2017 hit Agatha Christie adaptation Murder on the Orient Express. The project has also been severely harmed by the presence of star Armie Hammer. The film was pushed out of 2020 due to the longer-than-expected recovery period from the pandemic. But the problems were not over yet. Hammer was accused of sexual harassment. Once allegations of sexual abuse were leveled against Hammer, Disney decided to push the film all the way to February 11, 2022. According to recent reports, there aren’t any plans to reshoot Hammer’s role because he’s effectively the lead and interacts with almost every member of the cast. So the movie is already having a huge dent in its image.
Malignant
This horror flick, directed by James Wan, will be seen on HBO Man and in theatres as well on September 10. The plot remains perfectly hidden ever since the movie completed its production back in December 2019. But There have been under-the-table chatters that the film test-screened disastrously in early 2020. This could prove to be a serious backlash for the movie. It’s also possible that Wan’s bold decision to break away from a more conventional rollercoaster ride-type horror film has backfired spectacularly.
Minions: The Rise Of Gru
We love the Minions, don’t we? They have been a major part of pop culture with the meme trends. Minions: The Rise of Gru was initially scheduled for a July 3, 2020 release. But the animated sequel will now hit cinemas on July 1, 2022, marking a 728-day delay from its original date. The Despicable Me movies are largely loved by critics and audience alike, and the first Minions went on to gross a huge $1.159 billion worldwide back in 2015. But after such a long break, do people still care about them? There’s a huge chance the audience might not resonate with the Minions, and the franchise has most probably exhausted out of ideas. It will be no surprise if Minions: The Rise of Gru will earn exactly half of what other films earned.
