WandaVision episode 8 gave us a good brief into Wanda’s traumatic past. Wanda has lost everything that she has ever loved. From her parents to her brother, and her love (Vision). Episode 8 also brought in the moment when Wanda was finally called Scarlet Witch by Agatha Harkness as she told her she’s the myth. Wanda was seen creating an entire house with her powers as she outlasted her grief and in the process ended up taking everyone hostage in Westview.
In episode 8, we also see the moment when Wanda volunteered to be exposed to an Infinity Stone, and it was the exact moment when she got her powers. before she gets knocked out, Wanda sees what looks to be an image of herself fully suited up in a new costume as she completes her transformation into the Scarlet Witch. WandaVision, as fans have pointed out, is heavily derived from the comics and the fans absolutely love it. Episode 8 brings in a lot of new revelations. For example, we got a glimpse at Agatha’s past, as she’s way back in past and it can be easily said that she has been alive for more than 400 years. Also, that SWORD has been working to get Vision back online and weaponize him into the strongest there ever was. Wanda’s twins finally reappeared as they have been on a leash by Agatha Harkness. Monica Rambeau will definitely come in the climax episode which will air next Friday on Disney+.
Marvel Studios has done a tremendous job throughout WandaVision of giving Easter Eggs connecting to its central characters while also teasing the imminent future. Early promotional posters for the series teased each leading hero with a few of their costumes utilized in different decades of the sitcom-style episodes. Wanda’s posters were fascinating due to the hints that she would be receiving a costume upgrade by the time WandaVision came to an end. seeing the scene where the Mind Stone changed Wanda was exciting not only for the way it fleshed out her origin story but also for how it paid tribute to her comic roots and laid the foundation for her future. After seeing her comic accurate costume in “Episode 6,” this next wardrobe change should come as a pivotal moment as she takes on her biggest challenge yet in Agatha Harkness.
