Rumor: Ryan Reynolds To Appear In The Next Jumanji Installment

What we are about to tell you is something very huge. We have heard all sorts of rumors about Deadpool 3 starring Ryan Reynolds as the lead, but we all know that he is so much more than that. I mean, of course, before being in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his name was already way too huge. It is no doubt that he can be the main USP, and people love him for his unorthodox acting and his charming looks, but what if we tell you if we see Ryan and Dwayne The Rock Johnson sharing the same screen? Now that is one of the legendary moments for the entire Hollywood glory.

Influencer and writer Daniel Richtman recently teased on his Patreon page that the Deadpool actor is rumored to appear in the next Jumanji film, according to ComicBook.com. Richtman noted that this would be a reunion of sorts for Reynolds and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who previously appeared briefly together in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and recently wrapped filming on Netflix’s Red Notice. Reynolds would also be reuniting with Johnson’s Jumanji co-star Kevin Hart, who also made a brief cameo in the Fast & Furious spinoff film. When Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle came out, it turned out to be a massively entertaining movie with a star cast and we got to see the humorous bond between Robert Downey Jr. and Kevin Hart once again on the screen, which was not less than legendary. With such great success, there was no way that the movie wasn’t going to go further with a sequel.

Speaking of this, the movie ended up with the sequel called Jumanji: The Next Level, which was quite as fresh. Even so, it provided me with great enjoyment. But even after that, the earning dropped a considerable amount. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle earned an impressive $962 million, and Jumanji: The Next Level earned $800 million. But, it wasn’t that disappointing. Speaking of that, the franchise is going for another installment in the series, with insider Daniel Richtman reporting that the leading man is reportedly asking Sony for more money to return as Dr. Smolder Bravestone than Robert Downy Jr. was paid for Avengers: Endgame, which is certainly an interesting claim.

The 48-year-old already pocketed a salary of $23.5 million for the last movie before his bonuses were factored in, so Richtman’s claim should certainly be taken with a grain of salt. But even if his intel is a little off, it seems that Johnson is seeking some sort of raise in salary for the next outing in the franchise. How much he’ll get, though, remains to be seen. While Downey earned that eye-popping $75 million from Endgame, the film grossed $36.90 at the box office for every dollar he was paid. During a recent interview, Collider got an update on Jumanji 4 from Welcome to the Jungle and The Next Level helmsman Kasdan. The filmmaker revealed the sequel is currently in the earliest stages of development, saying

“We were just getting into the conversation before this global calamity and we will re-engage it as soon as everybody’s settled.”

Jumanji actor Alex Wolff also previously teased that he’d like to see the film’s real-life characters alongside their Jumanji game avatar counterparts in the next film. “Oh my God, yeah. That better happen. That would be so amazing,” Wolff told The Hollywood Reporter last year.

“I want that. Yeah, I think it would be full circle. To come back to the real world.”

When the outlet suggested a potential title for the film, Wolff added,

“Jumanji: Full Circle? Yeah, it better be that. Jumanji: Full Circle, I like that. The idea of all the kids, The Rock, Danny DeVito, Danny Glover, and everybody else in the real world makes me so unbelievably excited.” We’re just starting to talk about all of that and the truth is we’ve barely started.”

Dwayne Johnson The Rock

The director also told NME last year,

“The whole thing, to me, is built on the foundation of those people…The game cast are these brilliant movie stars, these iconic people. The thing that’s easy to not fully appreciate the mix of how they work is that the kids are just brilliant.”

Directed by Jake Kasdan, Jumanji: The Next Level stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Danny DeVito, Danny Glover, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Rory McCann, Alex Wolff, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, and Morgan Turner. The film is now available on Digital HD, Blu-ray, and DVD and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
