10 MCU Villains Who Lost In The Most Embarrassing Way
Marvel superheroes can be way more intimidating than the villains in the universe. Some great villains like Thanos and Killmonger were not only powerful but also scary. Their stone-heart and strategic minds had put the heroes through hell. Most of the time, we know, as an audience, that the hero always wins the fight. But we were legit forced to worry about our favorite hero’s fate when Thanos and Killmonger showed up. We can’t say the same for villains other than them who have also appeared in the MCU movies so far. Their defeat made us feel sorry for them. We couldn’t help but pray the heroes to go easy on these poor villains. You know who we are talking about. Here are the 10 MCU villains who lost in the most embarrassing way.
Dormammu
Dormammu is one of the most dangerous, darkest, and most powerful villains in the Marvel Universe. He was the ruler of the Dark Realm and Doctor Strange knew that he stood no chance to defeat Dormammu. So the brilliant Sorcerer Supreme used his brain and trapped himself with Dormammu in a time loop. The angry Dormmamu’s pride got more than satisfied by defeating Strange over and over and over again in the time loop. The grand villain was easily fooled with this reverse-psychology or whatever trick and compelled to leave.
Justin Hammer
Justin happens to be one of our favorite rivals of Tony Stark who has made desperate attempts to get out of Tony’s shadow. He was almost close to excelling at his own inventions but ended up becoming a laughing stock after the man he joined hands with came to bite him in the face. His victorious moment at the Stark Expo was ruined after Whiplash hacked into his systems and activated the drones. He had not even processed through that f*ck-up when Black Widow grabbed him and dragged him to the prison.
Ultron
The rise of Ultron really gave us chills. After all, he was an AI without emotions who was only driven by one aim- to destroy mankind. With the strongest witch by his side, he would have almost succeeded in his plan to upgrade himself in Vision’s body. Thankfully, Wanda came to her senses and joined the Avengers to stop his fatal plan. Ultron’s defeat was more painful than embarrassing. His so-called heart was pulled out and crushed by Wanda. Later, his last remaining Sentry who managed to survive with one arm was also blasted by his creation.
The Vulture
Out of all the villains in the Marvel movies, Michael Keaton’s Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming was the best surprise. In fact, we even sympathized a bit with him since he used to be a hardworking man who was pushed to joblessness because of big corporations. He ran a salvage company whose contract with the government to clear up after the Battle of New York was eaten up by Stark Industries. His defeat at the end of the film was pretty embarrassing as the grownup villain was trapped by the teen superhero after his plan failed.
Ronan the Accuser
Even school kids are harder to defeat than beating Ronan the Accuser. Evidently, the powerful Supreme Accuser of the Kree Empire had a pea brain to be distracted so easily by Star-Lord’s childish dance-off challenge. His strong and loud voice meant nothing after he failed to even catch the Power Stone. An experienced entity like him had lost from a bunch of amateur heroes.
Ulysses Klaue
Klaue was a recurring villain in the Marvel comic books who relished in some great victories. But his movie version was met with embarrassment like no one else. This villain was attacked twice, not by a hero but by other villains. After getting one of his arms chopped off by Ultron, Klaue’s body was later offered by Killmonger in exchange for entrance to Wakanda.
Yon-Rogg
It was hilarious when Yon-Rogg switched his colors on discovering that Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel realized her full potential. Aware of his inevitable defeat and death, he tried to challenge Captain Marvel for a wrestle without powers. We all know the end of that story.
Alexander Pierce
Alexander deserves to be credited for deceiving the SHIELD for so many years while sitting at the top and working for HYDRA in secret. But his shrewdness had a limit in front of Black Widow who destroyed all his plans and threw him under Nick Fury’s feet at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Loki
No villain has ever been beaten like Loki in the history of cinemas. He was not just a villain but a 1000-year old God flying high in his pride. All his majestic pride discounted to nothing after he was flipped and tossed like a ragdoll. Hulk calling him “Puny God” was a cherry on Loki’s wounds. Don’t know what hurt more, his pride or bones.
Cull Obsidian
Cull was a significant player in Thanos’ team who brought doom over the Avengers during the Infinity War. He was one of the children of Thanos and fought for the Mad Titan till the end to execute his plan. Cull was present during important fights but sadly didn’t get the spotlight he deserved. Some of the movie fans don’t even know his name or his origin. To top it all, he was defeated in a comedic way at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War when Wong teleported him to Antarctica and cut his arm. Since then, defeat kept hugging Cull in the most cartoonish way. He was fried by the forcefield of Wakanda and later crushed by Ant-Man’s giant feet.
