HBO Max Promo Reveals New Title For Zack Snyder’s Justice League

We all know how Warner Bros. earlier announced that they will release their entire 2021 slate on HBO Max for streaming and the movies will get a theatrical release as well. And the scenario began with Wonder Woman 1984. Well, the release of Wonder Woman 1984 has definitely served the purpose of increasing HBO Max’s subscribers. Scree Engine found in a survey that 23 percent of those who watched Wonder Woman 1984 on HBO ended up subscribing to the streaming platform, which is exactly the goal that Warner Bros. aimed for when they announced that they will release their entire 2021 slate on HBO Max for streaming and theatres also.

Wonder Woman 1984 Run Time

In a newly-released ad for HBO MAx – one talking about Wonder Woman 1984, and talking about the new and upcoming projects, a quick shot from Zack Snyder’s Justice League may have revealed the new title for the project. Fans are not going to like it, but the title – Justice League: Director’s Cut, is removing Zack Snyder’s name. If this is indeed what the current thinking at Warner Bros. is, it’s likely they assume Snyder fans will check-in regardless, and want a name that the general public will understand. To some, it makes sense. Warner Bros. would definitely want to target a lot of more people that are not necessarily a fan of the DC Extended Universe.

Ever since the Justice League reboot was announced became a reality, the internet gave it the name before Warner Bros. or DC could. “The Snyder Cut” is the name that gained internet fame as fans bombarded Warner Bros. in an attempt to get it released, and then it got Zack Snyder’s Justice League in the press release announcing that it was going to happen. Shortly after that, rumors started to circulate that WB was looking for a different title for the release, although everything since then has retained Snyder’s name in promotional materials. Check the ad below:

Justice League (2017) did not get what the fans expected. Snyder had completed an “assembly cut” which means the footage is basically all combined together into an outrageously long version of the movie but had to leave it as Snyder lost his daughter due to some uneventful circumstances. After that, the movie passed on to Joss Whedon, who slashed much of Snyder’s content and replaced it with reshoots that clashed wildly with Snyder’s footage in tone and look. The fans really did not like Justice League by Joss Whedon and call the CGI so whack that the fans even said that the CGI was done on a mobile phone.

Justice League is extremely crucial for the DC Extended Universe, and this caused a huge backlash for Warner Bros. There is no doubt that DC has a vast array of content that is amazingly binge-worthy, but it is also true that DC has failed over the years to maintain the regularities of good films. Even though the fans are loyal and love DC, they still cannot run over this fact this easily. Hence, when it was announced that Snyder is up and about for Justice League, the fans lost it in a quick frenzy and could not wait for the movie.

While Snyder’s grounded, violent approach to superhero movies had drawn criticism from some fans and underperformed relative to the massive expectations set by movies like The Dark Knight and The Avengers, they turned a modest profit and managed to get the next movie, and then the next greenlit. The earlier version of Justice League did not even remotely close to its money back and felt like where they tried to please everyone but ended up pleasing no one. The movie will get another shot with Justice League: The Snyder Cut/Zack Snyder’s Justice League/Justice League: Director’s Cut, which is expected to debut on HBO Max in March.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League has been getting its due appreciation and excitement even before the official announcement of the release date. No one is able to stay calm about the intensity of this particular project and are eagerly looking forward to it. But something seems off to the fans, which is the fact that Jared Leto will be coming back again as the Joker in Snyder’s Justice League and fans are not really looking supportive of this fact. But people that enjoyed Leto’s extremely maniacal delivery of the Clown Prince of Crime are looking forward to it, and are even ready to see what changes will Snyder and Leto make to the character.

Be it whatever, Snyder’s Justice League will make some big moves and will definitely take the internet by storm once it releases.
