The Endgame Afterlife Scene of Robert Downey Jr. & Katherine Langford Finally Revealed

Endgame Afterlife Scene of Robert Downey Jr. & Katherine Langford:

Avengers: Endgame was such a lengthy movie, and in a long film like this there are always a slew of deleted scenes that do not end up in the final cut of the film. There are so many deleted scenes of Avengers: Endgame that we wish we could have got in the final cut of the film. One such scene was where every hero bowed down to the magnificence of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). Another scene happened right after Tony’s snap where he went in the afterlife and met the older self of his daughter Morgan, played by Katherine Langford.

“13 Reasons Why” star was cast in a mystery role before Endgame, and not seeing her in the film came as a big surprise. Then the creatives revealed that Langford was supposed to play Tony’s daughter Morgan. The scene would have mirrored Thanos’ encounter with Baby Gamora in the Soul World after the Snap. At the Happy Sad Confused podcast, here’s what Joe Russo told us about the scene that they had to delete from the film:

“There was an idea that we had that Tony was going to go into the metaphysical way station that Thanos goes in when he snapped his fingers. And that there was going to be a future version of his daughter in that way station. The intention was that his future daughter–because these films are dealing with magic–forgave him and sort of gave him peace to go. And the idea felt resonant. But it was just too many ideas in an overly complicated movie.

What we realized about it was we didn’t feel an emotional association with the adult version of his daughter. So, it wasn’t ringing to us and resonating with us on an emotional level.”

Well, the important thing is that this scene was indeed shot. Katherine & Downey played this scene of Tony meeting his daughter and the setting was in the Soul World. Now, we’ve got proof of this scene as the aforementioned image shows the directors Joe & Anthony Russo commenting on the scene while it is playing.

And today is our lucky day because the entire scene has found its way on to the internet. But the directors are absolutely right. Throughout the film we saw the young Morgan Stark. So if we were going to see Morgan in the afterlife, it should have been the younger version that we saw throughout the film. Anyway, it’s done and we’ve moved on. Now we’re probably going to see the last of Tony Stark in Black Widow as the film will reuse a scene that was shot in Civil War.

Here’s the synopsis of Avengers: Endgame:

“Thanos snapped his fingers in Avengers: Infinity War, and half the life in the universe instantly dissolved. Now a ragged group of surviving warriors, including Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk works to counteract the Mad Titan’s genocidal action.

Since our heroes couldn’t stop Thanos the first time, what makes them think they can win in a rematch? The answer may be in overwhelming power, thanks to Captain Marvel, or in the tiniest spaces between atoms accessible to Ant-Man. Avengers: Endgame will rewrite the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it. When it’s all over, nothing will be the same.”
