Hidden Details About S.H.I.E.L.D In The MCU That You Missed

Details About SHIELD:

The Marvel Universe is vast and has a plethora of elements and storyline. Since the movies cannot explore every aspect, the studio has produced a series that runs in parallel with the films. MCU has recently announced the release of Marvel series on Disney+ titled WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and Loki. But long before the standalone shows of the Avengers, Marvel had dived into other series like Agent Carter, The Defenders, Daredevil, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., etc.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been the most successful TV series of Marvel so far. We were introduced to S.H.I.E.L.D. in the MCU movies where Captain America, Black Widow, and Nick Fury used to work. Diehard fans have picked up some hidden details about the organization from Avengers movies and the series. Here are the mind-blowing details about S.H.I.E.L.D. in the MCU that you missed.

 1. Galaga and The Avengers

In The Avengers, Robert Downey Jr. adlibs the funny line that a SHIELD agent was playing Galaga. Interestingly, the plot of the movie mirrors that of the game where the heroes have to fight the aliens and destroy their ship.

 2. SHIELD Got A Nod In Deadpool

MCU couldn’t make movies on X-Men and Deadpool since Fox had the rights to them until Disney bought the studios. Therefore, the X-Men universe and the Avengers universe ran separately and had no connection to each other’s world. However, fans have always wanted the Marvel heroes to share the screen in a crossover. We got a glimpse of that wish in Fox Studios’ Deadpool where they showed the ruined SHIELD Helicarrier from Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

 3. SHIELD Identified Wakanda

Wakanda was a hidden nation that had no ties with the outside world. With the help of technology, it was charmed with a shield that prevented anyone but a few to locate its real location. During Nick Fury and Tony Stark’s discussion on the Avengers initiative in Iron Man 2, we can see the hidden nation marked on the map. Clearly, Fury was interested in adding the Black Panther on the team and SHIELD always knew about Wakanda’s real location.

 4. Nick Fury Remembers Everything

Loyalty will always be rewarded by Nick Fury who watches you even when he is not present. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier when the SHIELD was compromised by HYDRA, an agent displayed courage and loyalty even a gun was pointing at his head. Later, in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the same agent is seen assisting during the battle of Sokovia.

 5. That Was Peggy On Sharon’s Phone

Sharon was a double agent who used the alias Kate and lived next door to Captain America to keep a watch on him. Before Steve got aware of her true identity, we see Sharon speaking to her aunt on the phone and telling him that she was an insomniac. Little did Steve Rogers know that Sharon was talking about Peggy. He might have taken the phone if he knew that was her on the other line.

 6. Jarvis In Endgame and Agent Carter

Using the same cast for TV series and movies maintains the continuity of the universe. James D’Arcy starred as Edwin Jarvis in the Agent Carter TV show. The same actor revived the role in Avengers: Endgame as Howard Stark’s loyal butler when Tony traveled back in time and interacted with his father.

 7. Portals of The Agents And Doctor Strange

The sixth season of the Agents of SHIELD introduced new villains who used an obscure technology to teleport. The portals that were formed with this tech resembled the portals of Doctor Strange.

 8. Hydra’s Infiltration Was Almost Revealed

In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, when Nick Fury was shot at Cap’s apartment, Sharon runs into his house with her walkie-talkie on which the dispatch asks about the shooter. How did the dispatch know that Fury was shot? Maybe the dispatch also heard from the bugs fixed at Roger’s house.

 9. Head of Hydra

There are many elements that connect the movies and series and Phil Coulson is not the only connection. The other character to appear in both the places was one of the members of the World Security Council that watched over S.H.I.E.L.D. He was seen in The Avengers holding a meeting with Nick Fury. This man turned out to be a member of Hydra whose backstory was revealed on the show.

 10. SHIELD Knew Everything About Klaue

SHIELD keeps a watch on everyone and records information about people of interest. When the Avengers found the dossier on Klaue from SHIELD’s records, they found every minute but prominent detail on him. The dossier mentioned that Klaue’s grandfather was killed by an old Black Panther. Even Klaue was attacked by the T’Challa for trying to get the hands of the Vibranium.
