10 Funniest One-Lines Ever Used in The MCU Movies

Funniest One Lines in MCU:

Making superhero movies has become the most lucrative business in Hollywood. However, it is not everyone’s cup of tea to produce a successful one. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has retained its top spot for a decade in the superhero genre. Most of its movies made it to the billion-dollar club and the profits are only getting bigger and bigger with every new release. The ingredients behind its success are A-list actors, captivating visuals and CGI, engaging plot, and humor. It seems that everybody enjoys action films with a dash of comedy and MCU has excelled in this game. Almost all MCU movies have numerous funny moments while some movies like Thor: Ragnarok and Guardians of the Galaxy are completely hilarious. We have listed the funniest one-liners ever used in the MCU movies. Well, these are our personal favorites, let us know which MCU moment and dialogue is the most hilarious for you.

 1. Tony Stark Praising Bruce Banner

Being the son of a scientist and a genius himself, Tony Stark was expected to acknowledge scientist Bruce Banner’s contribution in the field of science. But all those achievements obviously meant nothing to Tony as compared to Bruce’s Hulk-ing out. The first time we Stark meets Bruce Banner, he addresses him by saying “ I’m a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster”. Boy, we love Tony Stark!

  2. “Friend From Work”

Who would have thought that the Mighty God Thor would ever use a common human phrase in outer space? Thor was relieved and overjoyed on finding out that he had to fight the Hulk who was a “friend from work”. The famous line “We know each other! He’s a friend from work!” that he shouts out was suggested by a Make-A-Wish kid on the set.

 3. Iron Man’s Nickname To Hawkeye

The mighty Avengers’ names mean nothing to Tony Stark as he comes up with his own names. The reason why we relate to Tony Stark is that he connects to the youth with his pop-culture reference. Even during a time of crisis, Stark cracks us up by calling Hawkeye “Better clench up, Legolas”. Legolas was the elf archer in the Lord of the Rings who fought in the battlefield with a bow and arrow.

 4. When Tony Calls Thor “Point-Break”

Okay! We know that Tony’s one-liners dominate this list but can you blame us? MCU is incomplete without his jokes. If Bruce’s scientific achievements didn’t play on Tony, what makes you think that Thor’s being a God would leave any impact on him? The mighty Thor and God of Thunder of Asgard were discounted down to a pop-culture reference by Tony. It was hilarious when Stark called Thor “ Point Break” for his resemblance to Patrick Swayze from Point Break.

 5. When Captain America ‘Understood That Reference’

Considering Steve Rogers who was born on 4th July 1918, was the oldest in the Avengers team. Since he was in his 90s, belonged to the early 20th century, and stayed frozen for 66 years, he didn’t get more than half of the reference by his colleagues. It was a big achievement for Captain America when he caught Nick Fury’s reference to The Wizard of Oz. What a great-granddad moment!

 6. When Hawkeye Explains His Role To Wanda

When Wanda was struggling with sides in  Age of Ultron, Hawkeye jumps to her rescue and tries to guide her as a mentor. His explanation was on-point as he said “The city is flying. We’re fighting an army of robots. And I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense.” It’s like he read right through our minds. What was he doing with the bow in all these battles?

 7. When Pepper Walks In On Tony Stark

Iron Man aka Tony Stark is always pulling some shenanigans, either with his dangerous experiments or as a chick magnet. Poor Pepper Potts as she has to put up with Tony’s mischiefs and risk-taking all day. She almost skips a heart-beat when she walked in on Tony only to find him performing dangerous experiments with robots. But Tony’s comeback is the best as he says “Let’s face it, this is not the worst thing you’ve caught me doing.” Cheeky!

 8. Drax The Destroyer Catches Things Fast

Puns are the forte of MCU especially in Guardians of the Galaxy. Drax is one of the most loved characters in the movie for his innocent humor. He is funny but he doesn’t know it. His typical Drax moment was when he said “Nothing goes over my head! My reflexes are too fast, I would catch it”. Well, metaphors aren’t his best armor.

 9. When Loki Challenges Thanos

Loki and Hulk’s relationship started on the wrong foot in The Avengers. In the first movie, Iron Man responded to Loki’s “I have an army” with “We have a Hulk”. Loki soon learned what that meant but in the worst way possible. Hulk broke Loki’s pride as God in a minute by pounding him repeatedly on the floor as if he were a fly. But it was ironic to see the “puny” God use the same reference of “We have a Hulk” when he was facing Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.

10. When M’baku Tried To Be Intimidating

We loved M’Baku from Black Panther for his light sense of humor. He once attempted to use a famous threat but immediately turned it into a joke. It was hard to feel the tension when he said “If you say one more word, I’ll feed you to my children! I’m kidding. We’re vegetarians.”

Some honorable mentions are:

When Tony Stark refers to Doctor Strange as a wizard in a hushed tone is one of the funniest moments of Infinity War.
