Godzilla vs. Kong Feature a Third Monster:
It seems that WB is actually going for another attempt at a cliché hero vs. hero story where 2 heroes are forced to fight each other, but ultimately, they team up to take on a common enemy. Captain America: Civil War did that, and WB themselves did it in Batman V Superman. And now, it seems that Godzilla vs. Kong will also follow the same plot. Meaning, Kong is not the only monster that Godzilla needs to worry about.
While Godzilla claimed the title of King of the Monsters back in 2019, this titan still has 2 major enemies to defeat in the MonsterVerse. Both Godzilla and Kong have posed as protagonists in the 3 films that we’ve seen till now. But Godzilla, the alpha titan will now face a gigantic ape from Skull Island. But this time, the humans won’t just be watching from the sidelines. They will also get into the action. This is the official premise that has been given to us:
“In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the Earth forever.”
Now, what do you make out of this? It certainly tells us that despite Godzilla’s heroic efforts to take down monsters like Ghidorah, Rodan, and the MUTOs, Monarch is still against the Titans, whether they’re good or bad. And that’s why, they will come up with their own monster fighter, the Mechagodzilla. It is a man-made robotic counterpart of Godzilla.
About 3 months back, the merchandise of Godzilla confirmed that we’d be seeing Nozuki in the film as well. Nozuki is a winged snake-like creature that is better known in the Monster World as Nozuki, the Gigantic Snake Demon of the Under World. How Nozuki fits into the equation of the movie is still up for debate. But it is the Mechagodzilla that everyone should fear.
While there is going to be a definite winner between Godzilla and Kong, we still think that the two will team up at the end to take on the Mechagodzilla. Back in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, we saw several gigantic titans. They should also come into play in this film. That is why Monarch will probably come up with Mechagodzilla. We are still now sure how director Adam Wingard will manage to include multiple monsters, and still keep the focus on the big fight between Godzilla & Kong. But it is certain that he is cooking something massive because Godzilla vs. Kong has been pushed to May 21, 2021, a summer release date.
Let’s try and predict what will happen in the film. The last time we saw Kong was in the 70s. So he will have surely grown bigger and stronger. His agility against the slow Godzilla is his advantage, but Godzilla has the atomic breath. How Kong will counter that is still a mystery. If Mechagodzilla is the main antagonist of the movie, then we reckon that Godzilla will indeed win the battle. But he will not kill Kong as the gigantic ape will come in handy against Mechagodzilla that will be loaded with missiles, laser cannons, energy rays, and other such weapons.
Let’s see what happens. Who do you think will emerge as the ultimate winner?
