New Thor 4 Theory Suggests That Jane Foster Could Become a Valkyire

Thor 4 Theory:

Jane Foster is coming back to the MCU in Thor: Love and Thunder. This time, she will take on her comic book moniker of the Mighty Thor. Jane Foster didn’t return in Thor: Ragnarok after Thor’s entire family members put their lives on the line trying to save Jane. Thor’s mother Frigga died fighting Malekith when she was shielding Jane. Even Loki jumped into danger in order to save Jane. Most people won’t remember this as they didn’t like Thor 2 enough to actually watch it a second time. But it did happen. And it felt very strange that Jane & Thor broke up after having such a strong bond. Well, we’re glad that Jane will now be back in Thor 4.

The first two Thor movies didn’t work as well as Marvel expected them to. So, the franchise needed a complete revamp, and they got that in through Taika Waititi, who came into the Thor franchise as a breath of fresh air. He stripped whatever didn’t work for Thor previously. And now that you’re going to watch Thor 4, you’d realize that almost every thing that Waititi stripped Thor 3 off, is now coming back. Waititi’s unique approach to films is what’s allowing Marvel to still make us feel like things with Thor are fresh and original. Thor lost Jane in Thor 3, but she’s coming back. Mjolnir was broken into pieces. But apparently, it will return with Jane. Thor even lost his precious long hair, and now those are back as well. So you see what I mean.

But we’ve got a new theory which states how exactly could Taika Waititi actually take Jane’s journey forward in the MCU. It’s highly likely that her title of the Mighty Thor will stick around for at least a couple of MCU Phases, because she’s only just getting into Thor’s shoes. But that actually won’t happen if Taika Waititi ends up using Jane’s cancer story arc which leads to her eventual death.

Marvel Might Give Natalie Portman’s Thor Her Own Trilogy

In the comics, Jane becomes Thor when the God of Thunder doesn’t feel worthy of holding the hammer. She feels that there should always be a Thor to protect the nine realms, so she takes on the mantle of Thor by lifting Mjolnir herself. But all of it actually comes at a grave cost. She was actually suffering from cancer and going through her chemotherapy. So, as she lifts the hammer and transforms into Thor, her chemotherapy was getting undone, and she was moving one step closer to death. But, she was still willing to keep up the fight and this selfless attitude was actually the reason of her worthiness in the first place. So, taking the cancer story arc out of her story might have a negative effect, but let’s see what Taika does.

Anyway, Jane didn’t last very long as the Mighty Thor because of her condition. Fighting against Mangog, she had to sacrifice Mjolnir as well. She tied the big monster with a chain and Mjolnir, and she threw the hammer into the sun along with Mangog. The loss of her hammer turned her into a normal human, and soon after that she died.

Looking at her valiant efforts for protecting the 9 realms, Odin thought that she deserves to live. So, he went to the gates of Valhalla himself and resurrected Jane Foster. Jane was back to being a normal human, and she began to fight cancer once again by continuing her Chemo. Jason Aaron is currently following this story in his “Valkyrie: Jane Foster” comic series where Jane Foster is now a Valkyrie.

The readers loved Jane’s heroic arc as Thor so much that they just couldn’t see her going back to become a mere love interest. Thus she was given the title of Valkyrie when all other Valkyries fell at the hands of Malektith. So, Screen Rant has suggested a theory that Jane’s title as The Mighty Thor won’t remain permanent. Even though Taika Waititi has stated that he probably won’t be using the cancer story arc of Jane Forster, we think that she might want to get out of Thor’s shadow in the future. Instead, she could go on to become a Valkyrie like Tessa Thompson.

Since the moniker of Thor was just a phase for Jane in the comics, it could be the same in the MCU as well. MCU’s Valkyrie is now the leader of New Asgard. So, perhaps she might be looking to reassemble a squad of Valkyries. Jane’s heroics in Thor: Love and Thunder and beyond might lead to Valkyire asking Jane to become a Valkyrie as well. If this happens, then we could actually get a future Disney+ series featuring the Valkyries. It could star Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, and maybe even Jaime Alexander (Lady Sif). Yes, Lady Sif is totally alive in the MCU and she could perhaps become a Valkyrie as well. These three riders would then fly on with their Pegasi. Let’s see how things go.
