Did Marvel Secretly Make Tony Stark’s MCU Journey Mirror The Infinity Stones?

Tony Stark’s MCU Journey Infinity Stones:

Tony Stark is in effect the greatest superhero of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A genius billionaire playboy philanthropist, Tony is a man of many talents and skills. He is a leader. He is a savior. He is a pioneer. But most importantly, he is an Avenger – the nest and finest of the lot. His journey from a rich brat with an IQ to rival that of a small nation to a genuine guardian angel that will shield innocents with his own body is one for the history books. Robert Downey Junior has immortalized the character in our hearts and minds forever. And that is why seeing him go in Avengers: Endgame was all the more tragic and heartbreaking. As days pass by in a world without Iron Man, more and more theories are coming up about Tony Stark that is only adding on to his reputation. The latest one claims that the MCU actually made Tony Stark’s character development to simulate the Infinity Stones!

 1. His Soul Stone Moment – Tony in Soul World

This one was clearly omitted in the theatrical cut. But believe us when we say this, Tony does go to Soul World. The Soul World is an extra-dimensional pocket universe that exists within the Soul Stone. The Comics have shown the soul world in full detail. The Soul World is sentient and does everything within its power to ensure nobody leaves that reality. Adam Warlock was once trapped within the Soul World in the comics.

Tony Stark Deleted Soul Stone Scene

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, people who die due to the Infinity Stones end up in the Soul World. Gamora, who was sacrificed by Thanos to gain the Soul Stone, ended up there, where he was greeted by the Mad Titan at the end of Infinity War. Tony Stark, who died at the end of Endgame, was seen in the Soul World, greeting his now teenage daughter Morgan. That was a deleted scene that was kept out of the theatres. But Tony does have a Soul Stone moment after all.

 2. His Space Stone Moment – Tony going through the Portal over New York

The Avengers was the first-ever Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero team-up. It showed the entire world that the Avengers are the true kings of the superhero genre. But the movie was also more or less a massive character development plot for Tony. He realized that he cannot always have his way and sometimes he must give in to the situation and sacrifice his own interests for the greater good.

Tony took the nuke and piloted it straight through the portal created by the Space Stone to allow the Chitauri to invade Earth. Tony was never the same man again after he nearly died in the explosion.

 3. His Mind Stone Moment – Tony sees visions of the future

The Mind Stone has given rise to a lot of MCU characters. Wanda Maximoff and Quick Silver got their powers from the Mind Stone, after being experimented on by Hydra. The vision was born with the Mind Stone in his forehead. Ultron was a construct that once resided within the Mind Stone itself. But amongst all those, it was Wanda who got the longest end of the stick. Her reality-altering hex abilities were something even Thanos had trouble dealing with. Her abilities also included mind manipulation.

She once used that power to make the Hulk go berserk and make the other Avengers, including Tony Stark, to have visions. Now infamously known as a nightmarish future that Tony Stark foresaw, it was the power of the Mind Stone that was pulling the strings via Wanda Maximoff, making her manipulate Tony Stark and getting into his psyche. Tony Stark has as of then developed a strong connection with Mind Stone.

 4. His Reality Stone Moment – Tony’s Ultron Moment

Infinity Stones

After fighting villains and bad guys for so long, Tony had become a veteran as the Iron Man, the armored Avenger. He had been fighting the good fight, waging a war against evil. But he was certain that there was something else in store for Earth in the deepest and darkest corner of the universe. When everybody else thought that Tony was becoming Paranoid, He was merely stealing his mind and body to create Earth’s greatest defense.

Technically the artificial intelligence that Tony created with the help of banner was supposed to be connected to the Mind Stone, not the reality stone. But to be honest, it is more of a reality stone moment because Tony was trying to change the outcome of what was already coming. Tony was trying to alter the fate of reality by creating Ultron to defend humanity when the Avengers fail to do so. Tony Stark created Ultron and then had to face the reality of what happens when his own actions come back to haunt him.

 5. His Time Stone Moment – Tony solving Time Travel

This one is pretty obvious. Nobody could do it even though they knew the Quantum Realm held the answer to everything. Ant-Man showed them the way but not even Bruce Banner was able to find a solution. Tony Stark was destined to be the one that comes up with the missing link and solve time travel. He not only understood the complex intricacies of the Quantum Realm within a fortnight (something that took Hank Pym decades to master), he even goes above and beyond to find a novel method to use the Quantum Realm as a nexus to go to and fro in the time stream.

The Time Stone, as we know, can stop, fasten, and rewrite events happening in real-time. Tony is the one who found a way for the Avengers to do the same albeit in a non-conventional manner than what many would expect. There could not be a stronger Time Stone moment for Tony than the moment when Tony realizes he has done the impossible in Avengers: Endgame.

 6. His Power Stone Moment – Tony invents the Arc Reactor

This might be the most controversial of the lot. But it holds some water. Tony Stark had already realized that the Iron Man suit he was designing would not be able to be powered by conventional power sources alone. So he revolutionized the energy industry by creating a clean perpetual energy resource.

The arc reactor is a power source that can light up an entire city even though it is incredibly small. Tony’s brush with power came in the first-ever MCU movie Iron Man, where he developed the arc reactor in a cave when under captivity by the Ten Rings terrorists. The Power Stone may not have been physically been in the presence of Tony Stark but Tony did end up developing a power source that can at least mimic some of its qualities.

Spider-Man could be removed from the MCU

The Last Solo Marvel movie to be released under the Disney banner is Spider-Man: Far From Home. The movie was released on the 28th of June, 2019. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Peter Parker’s relaxing European vacation takes an unexpected turn when Nick Fury shows up in his hotel room to recruit him for a mission. The world is in danger as four massive elemental creatures — each representing Earth, air, water and fire — emerge from a hole torn in the universe. Parker soon finds himself donning the Spider-Man suit to help Fury and fellow superhero Mysterio stop the evil entities from wreaking havoc across the continent.
