These movies are not for casual viewers, only people who possess superior intelligence can understand these movies.
#10: Primer (2004)
Primer is a puzzling movie that will always stay two steps ahead of the viewers. It has an extremely complex plot that casual viewers won’t be able to crack. You’ll have to watch the movie several times to get it completely. It is an amazing Sci-Fi thriller that will mess with your mind. The most staggering aspect of the movie is that its budget is only $7000.
#9: Enemy (2013)
Enemy is a psychological thriller that feels more like an art piece than a movie. It is a Mind-bending movie that most of the viewers won’t be able to figure out in the first viewing. The movie is open to interpretation and you’ll have to work very hard to decode the true meaning of this movie.
#8: Mr. Nobody (2009)
If you want to see a mind-bending science fiction movie with amazing acting performances, then you just cannot miss Mr. Nobody. It is the perfect blend of philosophy and science fiction. It dwells a lot on existentialism that will compel you to think about the grander things in life. Jared Leto may be a weird guy but when it comes to acting, he is a Genius.
#7: The Man from Earth (2007)
Even the most die-hard sci-fi fans have never seen a movie such as The Man from Earth. This movie is completely made for people with higher intelligence. It has one of the most well-written scripts and the most surprising thing about the movie is that it has no special effects. It completely depends on an awesome plot to get its point across.
#6: Predestination (2014)
Time Travel is like opening Pandora’s box as no one knows what would happen in reality. Over the years quite a few movies have tried to explain time travel, but hardly anyone comes as close as Predestination. You will have to work super hard to keep up with the movie as one misstep would cost you heavily. It is a shame that this movie earned close to nothing at the box office.
#5: Memento (2000)
The fans never reached a consensus regarding this movie as everyone interprets Memento differently. The manner in which the movie is shot proves Nolan’s genius. The movie progresses in reverse and not a lot of fans were able to figure out what was happening. You will never be able to get this movie out of your head.
#4: A Beautiful Mind (2001)
A Beautiful Mind is a movie about one of the smartest people of all time, John Nash, so it would have been a shame if the makers would have dumbed the movie down, but thankfully that did not happen. Russell Crowe’s brilliant acting and Ron Howard’s masterful direction make this movie a must-watch.
#3: Interstellar (2014)
There is no shame in admitting that you did not understand this movie at once, as you would have to be a smart-ass. It is one of the most scientifically accurate sci-fi movies of all time. The acting is top-notch and the movie is full of emotional moments. Nolan is a Genius when it comes to movie-making and this is his masterpiece.
#2: Arrival (2016)
This is how you tell a compelling story. Arrival gives us the perfect and most realistic depiction of aliens. The sheer focus on realism makes it an awesome movie. Nothing is over-the-top, but the movie still manages to leave a lifelong impact on you. It is thought-provoking and it compels you to engage in self-reflection and introspection.

Inception is a one of kind movie full of plot twists that will leave you scratching your head. Everything about this movie is exceptional and it is made so masterfully that you won’t be able to keep up with it. Only the smart ones could guess what’s real and what’s not. You will feel a sense of accomplishment after getting this movie. Christopher Nolan is a gift that just keeps on giving.
