Gone are the days when Nerds and Geeks were outcasted and considered to be uncool. Their culture is slowly becoming mainstream and it is evident in today’s TV shows. These shows feature strong sci-fi and supernatural elements, making it perfect for the nerds and geeks.
#10: Chuck (2007 – 2012)
Chuck tells the story of an average computer geek, who accidentally downloads critical government secrets into his brain and uses that information to become a badass agent. The action in this show is very well done but the comedy is even better. Fans love this show because it is relatable and everyone low-key wants it to happen to them.
#9: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (2013 -)
We were introduced to SHIELD in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but we got to know them completely through this awesome TV show. The show starts very slowly, but if you make it past the first season, then you are in an amazing ride as the series follows the adventures of the secret agency in detail.
#8: The X-Files (1993 – 2018)
The X-Files is an iconic Sci-fi show that is tailor-made for nerds/geeks. It laid the benchmark for paranormal TV shows. Most of us grew up watching this show and it became a big part of our lives. The show has it all – Aliens, Monsters, freaks and paranormal mysteries, which makes it perfect for this genre.
#7: Firefly (2002 – 2003)
Firefly is set 500 years in the future and it follows a small space-crew and their intergalactic adventures. The show is revered by the fans and it is regarded as one of the best sci-fi shows of all time. Fox was foolish to cancel this amazing show as it would have been grand.
#6: Supernatural (2005 -)
You name any supernatural being, and we guarantee you this show features them – Ghosts, Monsters, Vampires, Werewolves, Demons, Angels, etc. Supernatural has it all. This show is a dream come true for the nerds. It is action-packed and it features the Badass Winchester brothers, fighting and eradicating evil beings.
#5: Daredevil (2015 – 2018)
Daredevil is a treat for comic book lovers as this show has the best portrayal of the superhero Daredevil. It is undoubtedly one of the best superhero TV shows of all time. The action in this show is next-level and the plot complements it perfectly. It is a shame that this show was canceled and never reached its rightful conclusion.
#4: Rick and Morty (2013 -)
Just as the show starts, you’ll know this is not your average TV show. It is very original and you’ll find creativity in each episode. Rick and Morty is an animated show, but it is not made for kids at all. It is very dark, realistic and full of emotions.
#3: The Big Bang Theory (2007 – 2019)
The Big Bang Theory is a show made on nerds for nerds. You can watch this sitcom over and over again without getting tired as the characters are just lovable. Like the majority of other shows, this show lost some steam after the first few seasons, but fortunately, it ended on a high note.
#2: Doctor Who (2005 -)
Doctor Who has been a fan favorite for several decades and this version is equally loved by the fans. This show has everything that a sci-fi fan hopes for and some more. For those who grew up watching the original, this show does not taint the reputation of the franchise, on the contrary, it elevates the reputation.
#1: Game of Thrones (2011 – 2019)
Game of Thrones has been the most talked-about show in the past decade as no other show has had such a grand impact on the pop-culture industry. It is an epic show and we are grateful to be living in a time where we could witness such awesomeness first-hand. Game of Thrones is truly the best show for nerds.
