Stranger Things Season 4: Jim Hopper to have Super Powers!!!!

Stranger Things has become Netflix’s most prized possession. With everything ranging from alternate reality to crazy monsters to secret government programs and super human soldiers, the season has everything that could be termed as a science fiction fan’s wet dreams coming true. Each subsequent season of Stranger Things would bring along with it a new twist. The next season of the show – Stranger Things Season 4 will see the return of the fan favourite character – Jim Hopper. And we have a very cool theory regarding what to expect from Hopper in the next season. Presenting – Stranger Things Season 4: Jim Hopper to have Super Powers!!!!

Stranger Things Season 4: Jim Hopper Super Powers

Many fans believe that Jim Hopper coming back might change the very face of the franchise forever. But this theory takes those hopes and amplifies it to epic proportions. Jim Hopper’s return was anticipated and predicted by a lot of fans but those predictions were pretty uncertain and baseless until we actually saw his face again in the final scene of Stranger Things Season 3. The actual twist may not be his return. Hopper might be coming back with a very special skill-set of his own to rival that of Eleven’s. He might have Upside-Down powers this time. That’s right – Jim Hopper could be a powerful psychic!!

Jim Hopper died a grizzly ‘death’ after the reactor exploded and the rift closed on him. While it was never explicitly shown that Hopper was dead, no human on Earth could survive an explosion like that. And then we see him again. The Russians are conducting their own little experiment and they have just thrown a prison to the Demogorgon. How did this American Prisoner (we are speculating it is Hopper), survive the explosion and the rift closing down on him and end up in Mother Russia?

This all makes zero sense. The Russian assassin Gregori was literally disintegrated when an explosion like that happened point blank on his face. If Hopper is in that Russian Prison, then he might be special and the Russians intend to use him somehow to get to the Demogorgon.

The duffer Brothers – the show runners of Stranger Things, are known to use creative plot twists to keep the core cast as minimal as possible and add more layers to existing characters. This not only drives down costs since there is no need to add more new characters to the show, but also serves as a very good plot device. This theory aligns with the Duffer Brothers’ philosophy of creative storytelling. The theory is that – the reactor explosion did not kill Hopper. It actually ended up giving him some really cool psychic super powers.

It is not like this is the first time we have heard about a person gaining abilities after being exposed to radiation, alternate dimension energies, and other strange incidents. It happens in the comic books and the pop culture world all the time. Jim Hopper is not going to be the first of his kind neither will he be the last of them. Spending time in an alternate universe after being exposed to lethal amounts of radiation is more than enough to justify this theory.

Adding more points to this theory, we also have to look at the fact that Hopper also has a shaved head like Eleven did during the starting of Season 1 of the show. Eleven was the outcome of the American MKUltra Program. And now the Russians are trying to replicate that same program with Hopper as their new test subject. Stranger Things Season 4 show runners were willing to let the fans know that Hopper is alive. This means that there are even bigger twists that the show will not tell us about. Hopper gaining superpowers could be that thing.

The last season of Stranger Things – Stranger Things Season 3 was released on the 15th of July, 2016. The official synopsis for the series reads:

Eleven sealed the gate between Hawkins and the Upside Down, seemingly ending the threat once and for all. … When the town’s threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves.
