The Race for the Oscars is on and this year it is more controversial than ever. Many awesome movies were fighting for the top spot and we realize that there can only be one winner, but to not even get a single nomination is just unfortunate and shocking. We still cannot believe that such awesome movies were snubbed so badly at the Oscars.

The Last Black Man in San Francisco is a touching drama about San Francisco. Each and every scene in this movie is perfectly put. The Cinematography in this movie is absolutely stunning and, shockingly, it wasn’t nominated in this category. This movie is an art that deserves a lot more praise.
#9: Waves

Waves is a beautifully made romantic drama about the journey of a family. It is an incredibly unique movie that will have a lifelong impact on you. It will change your outlook on life and art. All the actors in this movie are amazing and it is very well directed. We still cannot believe Waves was not even nominated for a single Oscar.
#8: Hustlers

Jennifer Lopez gave one of her best performances of all time and it seemed obvious that she would be nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar as she was nominated for Golden Globes, SAG and Critics Choice Awards. It is easily one of the biggest shockers of this years’ Oscars.
#7: Dolemite is My Name

Eddie Murphy made a spectacular comeback from this movie by portraying the legendary Rudy Ray Moore, a comedy and rap pioneer of the 1970s. The movie was nominated for two Golden Globes and the fans were expecting several Oscars nods for this movie. It is hands down one of the best biographies of 2019.
#6: Honey Boy

Honey Boy is a very brave and bold story about Shia LaBeouf’s real-life experiences. Shia LaBeouf presents his own story most authentically and you can feel that the movie is real. It is not an easy watch as the sequences depicted in the movie are very hard-hitting. The movie has one of the most original scripts and the fans were sure that it would be nominated for an Oscar.
#5: The Peanut Butter Falcon

The Peanut Butter Falcon is a heart-touching movie about Zak, a young man with Down Syndrome, who pursues his dream of becoming a professional wrestler. Shia LaBeouf is churning one amazing performance after the other and he is no longer in the shadow of his Transformers phase. This movie deserves a lot more praise and attention than it got.
#4: Midsommar

Horror movies are often snubbed at the Oscars but the fans believed that Midsommar would break that conception, but unfortunately, that could not happen. Midsommar is not your conventional horror movie, as it builds the horror slowly. The movie will not scare you but it will traumatize you.
#3: Portrait of a Lady on Fire

Portrait of a Lady on Fire is easily one of the best movies of 2019 as it garnered the best reviews from all around the world. Unfortunately, France decided not to select this movie as their official pick for the Oscars. The Academy is hesitant to nominate foreign films and that is a shame.

The Lead actress of this movie Awkwafina won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy and she was not even nominated for the Oscars. The Farewell is one of 2019’s best movies and we still can’t believe that the movie was completely snubbed at the Oscars.

Uncut Gems is one of the best-reviewed movies of 2019 and it seemed obvious that the movie was going to get several Oscar nominations. It is baffling and a complete shame that such an awesome movie did not even get nominated for a single Oscar. Adam Sandler was at his best in this movie but sometimes reality is cruel.
