Directed by Martin Scorsese, Shutter Island stars Leonardo DiCaprio and this movie will challenge you psychologically as you won’t be able to look away.
#7: Joker (2019)
Joker is an emotionally haunting movie that tells the story of a broken man, Arthur, who is betrayed by society and then finally transforms into something bigger than himself – The Joker. It focuses on the psyche of the main character and if Joaquin doesn’t get an Oscar nomination for this performance, then it would be a complete shame.

Prisoners is an intense experience that is gut-wrenching and dark. It stars Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal and they perform brilliantly. The suspense never lets up and you’ll be on the edge of your seat throughout the course of the movie. This movie is definitely worth your time and the most horrifying aspect of this movie is the fact that it could happen to anyone of us.

The moment you start the movie you’ll realize that you are going to get something gritty, raw, and real. The story revolves around the character of Natalie Portman, who is dealing with the pressure of playing the Swan Queen. When the movie gets over, we can guarantee that you would be shaking.
#4: Nightcrawler (2014)
Jake Gyllenhaal’s performance as Lou Bloom will frighten you to your core and the actor has never been better. There is not even a single dull moment in the movie and no, it is not based on the mutant from X-Men. Nightcrawler is as original as it comes and it is about a sociopath who is introduced to the world of video news filming and it’s not long before the line between good and bad blurs.
#3: The Handmaiden (2016)
The Handmaiden is a film by the great Park Chan-Wook (Oldboy, Lady Vengeance) and if you are familiar with his work, then you already know that this movie is going to be amazing. The Handmaiden is shot beautifully and it is about greed and betrayal. Even though it is a Korean movie, it gained widespread attention due to its plot.

This list would have been incomplete without a David Fincher movie as he is a master of this genre. Gone Girl is a stylish thriller that you will remember for ages. The movie starts as a normal murder mystery and then it slowly transforms into something very special. David Fincher does it again.

Inception is undoubtedly one of the best movies made in the last 10 years of any given genre. Christopher Nolan is an absolute genius. Inception is a “one of a kind” movie and you can only experience such a movie once. We cannot recommend this movie any more than we have if you still haven’t watched it. This movie is Dreamy.
