Marvel’s spin-off movie Venom: Let There Be Carnage was a box office hit, prompting Sony Pictures to greenlight Venom 3, with a star-studded cast already being assembled. The studio has reportedly offered a villainous role in the upcoming movie to Chiwetel Ejiofor, the talented actor who played Baron Karl Mordo in the Doctor Strange movies. Owen Wilson was also offered a role, but reportedly passed on it, paving the way for Jemaine Clement to potentially take the part.
Fans of the first two Venom movies will be thrilled to learn that Tom Hardy is set to reprise his role as Eddie Brock in Venom 3, with Juno Temple joining the cast in an undisclosed role. The movie will see some changes to its lineup, with Kelly Marcel being promoted from producer to director after writing and producing the first two films. Daniel Richtman, a reliable scooper, revealed on his Patreon account that Sony Pictures has offered Ejiofor a villainous role in the upcoming movie.
Ejiofor is known for his ability to play convincing and conniving villains, as seen in his performances as Baron Karl Mordo in the MCU’s Doctor Strange movies. Ejiofor’s recent comeback as one of the members of the MCU’s Illuminati in Doctor Strange 2 shows that he has what it takes to play a wild role in Sony’s symbiotic movie series. Jemaine Clement, who has starred in What We Do in the Shadows and Moana, has also been offered a role in Venom 3, but it’s unclear if he has accepted the offer yet.
Owen Wilson was also offered a role, but he reportedly passed on it. The movie is expected to begin shooting from June to September this year, with more information about the cast and plot set to be revealed as cameras start rolling. It’s still unknown when Venom 3 will be released. Tom Hardy’s fan-favorite anti-hero has garnered a massive following, and with a star-studded cast, Venom 3 is set to be another blockbuster hit.
As Hardy and his co-stars prepare to bring Eddie Brock’s next big adventure to life, fans can look forward to seeing some exciting new characters and possibly even some familiar faces in the movie.
