Dark Avengers Will Be the Perfect MCU Movie for Tom Hardy’s Venom to Appear

Dark Avengers Perfect MCU Movie for Venom to Appear

Sony began something really amazing with Venom, and we can only hope that they’d make their own shared Universe with Venom, Morbius, Spider-Man & other villains almost as cool as the MCU is. But talking about Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters and MCU, there’s actually a chance for both these Universes to collide as Marvel has opened the doors for Spider-Man to appear in Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters.

Venom 2 Adds a Second Villain

Here’s what Kevin Feige announced when he stated that Spider-Man will be back in the MCU and will also appear in Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters:

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it. Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”

Feige specifically talked about future surprises. While he didn’t confirm the fact that characters from Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters won’t appear in the MCU, he didn’t deny this claim either. In fact we did come across a rumor that an MCU-SUMC crossover will happen at some point of time, we can believe that the likes of Venom & Morbius could show up into the MCU at some point of time.

Morbius could have an amazing crossover in Marvel’s Blade movie, while Venom could appear in so many different places in the MCU. Usually, Kevin Feige is very against of any character coming into the MCU without being tweaked a bit from the way they appeared in their original Universe. Nothing appears in the MCU if it hasn’t been worked upon by Feige. So, it’s tough to believe that Feige would agree to Venom appearing in the MCU, but perhaps that was the deal that Marvel & Sony made so Spider-Man could continue appearing in the MCU.

Black Ops Team in The Comic Books

So, let’s just believe that Venom will appear in the MCU at some point of time. It could either be in a Spider-Man movie or it could perhaps be a Venompool crossover. But what would really be the perfect set up for Venom to be in? The answer is Dark Avengers! For those of you who don’t really know, the Dark Avengers is basically a new iteration of the Thunderbolts in the comics, as it is a team of supervillains including Norman Osborn aka Green Goblin as the leader of the pack.

The other members of the team include former Scorpion Mac Gargan who was combined with the Venom Symbiote as Spider-Man, Bullseye dressed as Hawkeye, the evil son of Logan (Daken) as Wolverine, Moonstone as Ms. Marvel and Osborn himself in Tony Stark’s Iron Patriot suit. Similar to the Suicide Squad, all these villains band together as heroes in order to have time off of their sentences removed.

Now instead of the Venom Symbiote going to Mac Gargan in the MCU, we could perhaps have Tom Hardy’s Venom team up with the Dark Avengers itself. Marvel always alters things to make them more fitting in the MCU, and perhaps the only slot that is vacant in an MCU team is in the Dark Avengers. A Thunderbolts project is being set up for the near future, and that could be converted into the Dark Avengers. Because Venom is an anti-hero, he could definitely be in the Dark Avengers team if Marvel decides to bring him in.

In fact, We Got This Covered has reported that this could actually become a reality. They have gone on to further say that Marvel will adapt the “Dark Reign” arc from the comics. We’ll see how things turn out to be in the future. But for now, Tom Hardy is contracted to appear in 3 SUMC movies, and his next appearance would be in Venom 2.
