Something About the Rakhi Festival
There are many stories in the Indian history that have a mention about this festival, each with similar morals but in different contexts. One such story is of Krishna and Draupadi, in the times of Mahabharata, during the Lord Vishnu’s Krishna Avatar.
When Lord Krishna, used his Sudharshna Chakra to kill Shishupal, he suffered a bleeding on his finger. Draupadi, who was present there, cut off a little bit of her Saree and tied his finger with it to stop the bleeding. In return, Krishna gave her a promise to help her in the time of need. This is the story behind Lord Krishna helping her when she being disrobed. Krishna came and made her saree never ending, saving her the embarrassment by giving her protection when she needed it the most.
