Eternals May Actually Reveal the Origin of Knowhere from Guardians of the Galaxy

Eternals Reveal the Origin of Knowhere from Guardians of the Galaxy:

Guardians of the Galaxy is the most important franchise of the MCU because it opened up the cosmic end of Marvel. That’s where the likes of Thanos, Gamora & Nebula came into the story. All three of those were very important characters of the Infinity Saga. James Gunn deserves all the credit for expanding the cosmic side of the MCU, but now that job will be handed over to the Eternals.

Marvel’s Eternals will be MCU’s earliest movie. It will be set in the ancient past and will actually tell us the history of the entire cosmos. The Celestials will come into play since they are the ones that create the Eternals, and accidentally, the Deviants as well. Since there are so many Eternals who are going to get substantial roles, we should expect the story to mainly focus upon them. But, there could be so many connections that this prequel could establish with the Infinity Saga.

For starters, there’s this young Thanos concept art. Remember Thanos is an Eternal and his entire family was amongst the Eternals. He looks different because he was born with a Deviant gene. No one actually knows how old Thanos currently is, so we could get a scene involving young Thanos in this movie. It could help set up the origin of Thanos as the tyrant because we may see a young Thanos on Titan trying to bring his idea of genocide forward on Titan. This idea obviously leads him to banish. But we’re probably not getting what this scene that people are familiar with, could accomplish for the story of the Eternals.

The Thanos scene would probably not be included, but there’s another cosmic connection that this movie could establish. In Guardians of the Galaxy, we actually get to see how Knowhere looks from the outside. As the MCU fans are familiar, Knowhere is the place where the Collector’s priceless vault exists. But, those who are uninitiated with the comics may not know that it looks like a skull because it is actually a severed head of a Celestial.

It got a new origin in the Venom comics from 2018. In Venom #4, we get a look at Knull, the main villain of this comic series. Knull is the God of the Symbiotes who lived in the darkness of space before there ever was light, and he actually existed even before life came into being. Then happened the Big Bang which saw the Celestials looking to shape the new universe as they saw fit.

Since Knull was a God himself, he was not going to let the Celestials do as they pleased, so what he did was that he pulled out a symbiote sword that would become the All-Black Necrosword. He used that sword to actually slice the head off of the Celestial nearest to him, and that caused the rest of the Celestials to cast Knull back to the deep blackness of space. But what happened next was what no one had thought as the entity had found refuge inside his victim’s severed head.

Ignoring the last bit here, we do understand the fact that the Necrosword was used to decapitate a Celestial. Now, the Eternals movie may not show us the exact scene of who cut off the Celestial’s head, but it may be mentioned in a throwaway line, or perhaps we may get another look at Knowhere that somehow tells us its origin. What’s important is that Eternals could actually tie in with Guardians of the Galaxy using Knowhere.

Even the Necrosword is probably gonna come into play in Thor: Love And Thunder. Gorr the Godbutcher is a rumored villain in the film. So, before just dropping the impeccably powerful weapon in the Thor movie, Eternals could actually use the Knowhere sequence to make people aware and excited about the Necrosword that will potentially be used in Thor: Love And Thunder. So, let’s see what happens.

Eternals comes out on November 6, 2020.
