Thor: Love And Thunder – The Second & Main Villain Has Been Revealed

Thor: Love And Thunder:

The Mighty Thor is making her way into the MCU as Marvel has managed to bring back Natalie Portman to star as Jane Foster’s version of Thor. Avengers: Endgame clearly revealed that Thor still loves Jane Foster and now we’d see the thunderous love remerge between the two. While the two get back together, there’s Valkyrie, the new King of Asgard who would be looking for her queen. Imagine if this new queen actually turns out to be Jane Foster!

If this were to be the case then Thor would be stuck in a very weird love triangle. He’d probably get both of those ladies or none of them! Love and Thunder is such an amazing movie title as it’s so simple and at the same time very deep. Moreover, it could even have more than one meaning depending on the story that Taika Waititi may want to tell. As far as the other cast members are concerned, we can expect Taika to return as Korg. Then there’s Miek who’d certainly be back. It’d be amazing if Taika manages to enroll Hulk as well. We’d have the complete band of Revengers!

Thor 4 Villain Marvel

Now, who would these Revengers be taking on is a whole new question. Imagine if Jane Foster’s version of The Mighty Thor actually turns out to be the antagonist. That will pull the rug underneath everyone. But given the fact that Marvel would want Jane Foster to continue for a longer period of time, she’d probably not be the antagonist in the film.

For the villains, a rumor that has been running for the better part of this month suggests that Amora the Enchantress will be a villain in the film. Don’t get confused by DC’s version of Enchantress as Amora is totally different. She is one of the greatest Thor villains of all time. Born on Asgard, she learned magic from Karnilla, Queen of the Norns but was eventually banished. She furthered her magical skills by seducing others well versed in magic and learning their secrets. So, she could be a mystical version of Poison Ivy, and this could be a totally different league of villain for Thor! He’d have to be strong-willed to beat Amora as his brawns won’t do much.

What’s interesting is that Amora could be in the film for Jane Forster aka The Mighty Thor. In the comics, she was once ordered to kill Thor’s love and that’s something which we could be seeing in the upcoming film as well. But if Amora fights Jane, then who will Thor be fighting? New report suggests that the villain against Thor is going to be a relatively fresh individual. It’s said to be Gorr the God Butcher. He only made his way into the books 6 years ago, i.e. in 2013.

Gorr the God Butcher is a fan-favorite villain and he has a very tragic backstory as his mother, soulmate and children all die. Due to the death of his loved ones, his belief over Gods also dies. He actually thinks that Gods do not exist or else they would have saved his family. He even gets banished from is tribe for thinking that Gods don’t exist. But when he finds about Thor and other living Gods, he vows to kill them all as the Gods didn’t listen to his plea of saving his family.

Gorr would go on to possess the all-black Necrosword which is insanely powerful. He got this sword from Null, after witnessing Null in a battle with a golden God. According to Galactus, this sword carved the first dawn from the stone of the endless night. Moreover, this sword was made using the head of a dead Celestial. Well, we all know who a severed Celestial Head in the MCU. So perhaps, Knowhere could actually have come to aid in the creation of the Necrosword.

If Gorr does show up in Love and Thunder, then he may actually get the Necrosword from Knowhere in Thor: Love And Thunder. This would further show us how things have been with the Collector and his vault after Thanos attacked him. Moreover, this is a way that could be used to reunite the Grandmaster and the Collector.

The All-Black Necroswrod gives the user the ability to fly by giving him/her wings. It further allows the wielder to create weapons and an army of berserkers made completely out of darkness! The biggest feature of this sword is that it can actually kill Gods. So, Thor would be in an insane danger taking on someone like Gorr the God Butcher. In the comics, Gorr obviously gets the Necrosword and tries to kill the God of Thunder for good. But Thor ultimately manages to take down Gorr and then banish the Necrosword into a Black Hole.

Later, King Thor actually brings back the Necrosword in order to take on Galactus. Well, what if this whole scenario is used within the MCU? Disney has acquired Fox and now they would be looking for ways to bring in the likes of Silver Surfer and Galactus. Thor could use the Necrosword to fight Galactus later down the line. But he’d only fight the big cosmic villain if he survives this film.

What if Gorr actually manages to kill Thor? Love and Thunder bring in the Mighty Thor. But what if the coming of Jane Foster’s Thor means the passing on of the mantle? Jane Foster could continue the Thor franchise on her own if Chris Hemsworth’s Thor dies at the hands of Gorr. It’d be a very emotional story in this way as we could see Thor sacrificing himself to save Jane somehow.

Let’s see what happens. All we know is that we’re not ready to lose Thor just now, but he can only continue in the MCU for so long! Thor: Love And Thunder arrive on November 5, 2021.
