Stranger Things Actor Being Eyed for Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is surely the most anticipated Phase 4 movie and we’re patiently waiting for Marvel to make a big announcement regarding the film at San Diego Comic-Con. The one thing we want to know about the upcoming cosmic film is the new actor that is to be added in the film. He likes of Adam Warlock and Nova are expected to come in, and the internet has been associating so many names to these characters (Adam Warlock in particular).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

The Sovereign leader Ayesha teased for Adam Warlock to be a part of the next Guardians of the Galaxy film, and we’ve been waiting for the character to make his debut ever since 2017. Rumor suggests that High Evolutionary, the creator of Rocket Raccoon is going to be the villain in this film, and we’d even see characters like Drax’s daughter Moondragon, and Rocket’s love interest Lylla come into play.

With so many of these characters coming in, we assumed that Adam Warlock may be benched for a film. But it is always a possibility that High Evolutionary could be one of the villains, while the main antagonist will be Adam Warlock and the Sovereign. But the big question that still stands is that who exactly will play Adam Warlock.

Names like Zac Efron, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and even Keanu Reeves have been associated with the character. But according to a new report coming from We Got This Covered, Power Rangers and Stranger Things actor Dacre Montgomery is being eyed to play Adam Warlock. Well, Stranger Things fans would agree to the fact that it’s a pretty cool choice since Montgomery is a wonderful actor. So, we could actually look forward to him joining to MCU.

Gunn is back to direct the third film and he has given us an insight upon how he was invited back to take on the Guardians again by Walt Disney Studios chief Alan Horn:

“I was about to sit down and talk about Suicide Squad with DC and I was excited about that. Alan asked me to come talk to him. I really believe he is a good man and I think he hired me back because he thought that was the right thing to do. I’ve known him a little, going back to the Scooby-Doo movies. I’ve always liked and admired him. I was touched by his compassion.

You hear in Hollywood that everybody’s cutthroat. That’s true of a section of this industry, but there’s also a lot of really good people. I’m always attracted to finding that goodness in places we don’t expect, often in the characters in my movies. I got a little bit teary-eyed in his office. And then I had to go tell Kevin Feige I had just decided to do Suicide Squad, so that made me very nervous.”

James Gunn has claimed that this film will be extremely special for Rocket Raccoon. So, we’d surely get to see High Evolutionary and Lylla in the film. In his interview with Deadline, James Gunn talked about the reason why he is really excited to be back on the ship with Guardians. And that reason is Rocket Raccoon.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

He said:

“When you asked me what was saddest for me when I thought it was gone—and anybody at Marvel can tell you—it’s this very strange and attached relationship to Rocket. Rocket is me, he really is, even if that sounds narcissistic. Groot is like my dog. I love Groot in a completely different way. I relate to Rocket and I feel compassion for Rocket, but I also feel like his story has not been completed. He has an arc that started in the first movie, continued into the second and goes through Infinity War and Endgame, and then I was set to really finish that arc in Guardians 3. That was a big loss to me—not being able to finish that story—though I was comforted by the fact that they were still planning to use my script.”

Let’s see whether Dacre Montgomery makes it to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The movie will supposedly hit the theatres in May 2022.
