A few of Marvel’s Phase 5 Movies Could Be Announced in August

Just when you thought that Avengers: Endgame will be the last of Marvel’s great rodeos, they came up with a slate of 10 projects that will arrive within the next 2 years! People lost their minds as everyone thought that Phase 4 will run at least for the next 3-5 years, but Marvel here is ending it in 2. In fact they already have a Marvel Phase 5 slate ready!

Marvel Phase 5

First of all, Feige slipped in the fact that Phase 4 actually has 11 movies. After the Comic Con Panel, he revealed a few more details in an interview with MTV:

“We debated what we should announce today. Should we announce Phase Four and Five? We’ve planned them out, we’ve got five years down the road and I was like, I think eleven projects in two years is plenty having not mentioned anything for two or three years.”

This 11th project has to be Sony’s Spider-Man 3 as why won’t Marvel announce it if there is one. Back at Comic Con, Feige announced at least 6 more projects to be under works. First of all, he dropped the big bomb of Mahershala Ali as Marvel’s Blade. Other than that, he confirmed Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to be under development. Then he went on to talk about the fact that Marvel already has the line-up ready for the next Avengers movie. They’ve even got a big Civil War like crossover event planned as well. Amidst all this, he sneaked Fantastic Four & the X-Men as well.

So there’s plenty of stuff coming at us even after Thor: Love And Thunder and the Hawkeye series in the fall of 2021. Disney’s D23 Expo is right around the corner as it is just a month away. So, we could perhaps get confirmed release dates for 2-3 films at D23 in August. Black Panther 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 may surely end up getting 2022 release dates so that’s what D23 may bring at us.

Logically if you think about it, Marvel won’t have as much time to announce projects at D23 as they did at Comic-Con. They’d just get 1 hour and in that hour they will have to make their presentation. So they could either give us further details of all the Phase 4 projects or they could end up revealing a couple more projects from Marvel Phase 5.

It’d be very interesting to see who ends up being in the line-up of the New Avengers movie. Even though 4 of the 6 Ogs are out, there are still about 16 more heroes that are still present, and more new ones have also been announced. Feige explained:

“Well, we got a Falcon and Winter Soldier show, we got a WandaVision show. We’re introducing Monica Rambeau in that WandaVision show… Wanda Maximoff, who is probably near the upper echelons of power — I contend she would have taken down Thanos if he hadn’t called the [army], it was done — so her being the Scarlet Witch now, as Lizzie said on stagein a full sort of unabashed power-based [way], coming into the Doctor Strange movie, that is two heroes coming together in a fun way.”

Let’s do a headcount of everyone that could be forming the new team – Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Falcon, Winter Soldier, Scarlet Witch, Spectrum, Blade, Shang-Chi, Thor, Jane Foster, Valkyrie, Ant-Man and the Wasp. That is a lot of heroes! Let’s see what happens.

In the meanwhile, here’s the Phase 4 slate – Black Widow on May 1, 2020, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in Fall 2020, The Eternals on November 6, 2020, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on February 12, 2021, WandaVision in Spring 2021, Loki in Spring 2021, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 7, 2021, What If? In Summer 2021, Hawkeye in Fall 2021, and Thor: Love and Thunder on November 5, 2021.
