Blade TV Series:
Back when Wesley Snipes donned the black leather overcoat and katana blades and killed hordes of vampires one after the other, the audience welcomed him as Blade the Vampire Hunter. As a being who hunts his own kind and one of the first mainstream POC superheroes to embrace the big screens, the Blade movies were unique in the sense that they not only gave us a look at the criminal underbelly of the Marvel Universe but its R-rated action sequences also meant Blade could go as a movie where no other movie has ventured before – blood and gore of extraordinary caliber coupled with breathtaking action choreography.
The Blade trilogy is still regarded as one of the best fantasy, science fiction action series to ever exist. And if rumours are to be trusted, we have not seen the last of it. A Blade TV series is supposedly going to happen soon and will hit Disney’s newly acquired online streaming service Hulu in the near future. Presenting – Marvel reportedly planning Blade TV series to be streamed in Hulu!!
Marvel’s top tier Vampire slayer is only one of the latest rumored TV Shows of the supernatural genre that are going to be part of Marvel’s Small Screen Initiative. We already know that a Ghost Rider TV series and a Helstrom TV series (focusing on the Helstrom siblings) are confirmed to be in the pipeline. Adding Blade into the mix is not only perfect but makes a lot of sense.
Marvel is probably intending to start them as origin stories and then weave them together to form their own version of the small screen universe like The CW did with the Arrow-verse and Netflix did with the Defenders. The fact that Runaways, another Marvel Comics TV Show that has some supernatural elements to it and is Hulu property, also helps extend the universe.
Runaways will feature a lot of the mystical lore next season with Elizabeth Hurley slated to play Morgan le Fay, the evil queen of Magic from Arthurian legends this time in the show. Coupled with Ghost Rider and the Helstrom TV Show, we are led to believe that Marvel is trying to build a Hulu-verse of supernatural superheroes. Blade would fit right in because he is one of the greatest authorities in terms of magic and mystical creatures since he has been fighting them ever since he debuted in the comic books.
Blade is also one of the most important characters in the recently released War of Realms comic book storyline of Marvel Comics. He also joined the Avengers a short while ago and is a full-fledged member of the Earth’s mightiest heroes. Looks like Marvel is trying to milk the fan favorite superhero as much as they can since the popularity of the Day walking vampire is sky high right now.
The only question that remains is – if Wesley Snipes, the One True Blade, makes an appearance in the TV Show. Even though Marvel will try to look for a younger actor for playing Blade, Wesley needs to make an appearance in the show for nostalgia’s sake.
The last solo MCU movie to be released under the Disney banner is Captain Marvel. The movie has been declared a Huge Box Office Success. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:
Captain Marvel is an extraterrestrial Kree warrior who finds herself caught in the middle of an intergalactic battle between her people and the Skrulls. Living on Earth in 1995, she keeps having recurring memories of another life as U.S. Air Force pilot Carol Danvers. With help from Nick Fury, Captain Marvel tries to uncover the secrets of her past while harnessing her special superpowers to end the war with the evil Skrulls.
Avengers: Endgame was released on the 26th of April, 2019. The official film synopsis of the movie has been already released and it states:
“After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War, the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.”
