Marvel Studios are Reportedly Thinking to Introduce Sentry into the MCU

Sentry into the MCU:

The Marvel roster of heroes and movies just keeps on getting bigger and bigger. We know that they are currently planning to introduce some really huge elements into the MCU in the coming few years. Amongst those elements are going to be new big name heroes that will join the MCU sooner than you think. Heroes like Shang Chi, Namor, Captain Britain and probably even Black Knight fall in this category.

Avengers: Endgame Directors Captain Britain Namor

Kevin Feige said it himself last year that Namor is coming very soon. Endgame teased his presence close to Wakanda so we can imagine that he’d be in Black Panther 2. Shang Chi is getting his own movie and rumor suggests that Black Knight & Captain Britain will be introduced as a Tag team Duo in an upcoming film. But who else is coming into the MCU?

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Adam Warlock

Voodoo and Clea have been rumored for Doctor Strange 2 and Adam Warlock is probably going to be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. So clubbing all these characters, we get a really massive powerhouse of new characters. But Marvel will not stop at just these few names. It’s crazy that all these names will actually come in before the X-Men and Fantastic Four, but according to a new report, Marvel is looking to bring in yet another major Power House somewhere down the line.

According to the folks over at Discussing Film, the big character that is being talked about is none other than the Sentry. The common folk of Marvel usually described him as the Superman of Marvel, but he is so much more. His strength levels and abilities are much higher than that of Superman. So, it will actually be interesting to see how Marvel brings him in, and where he could fit. Captain Marvel has become the most powerful hero of Superhero of the MCU, but Sentry could certainly even exceed her power.

Sentry

The problem with characters like Sentry is that a compelling story cannot be told with them being so invincible and having no invulnerability. It gets difficult for audience to get emotionally involved with a character when they know that he/she is always going to emerge victorious. There’s no real tension surrounding them. That’s why Captain America and Iron Man worked so well.

So, if Sentry really does have to come in, then he should probably be pit against Captain Marvel at some point of time. That would make a really awesome match up, and the sense of tension comes right back in. For those of you who don’t really know about Sentry can refer to Wiki. As far as the question of “When” stands, the answer is – it won’t be soon!

Disney Marvel Comic-Con

The future of the MCU will become clear after Spider-Man: Far From Home hits the theatres as Kevin Feige has already talked about it, and the characters which will get to be a part of it. He said:

“The slate that we’re building over the next five years [is] not apples to apples. It is two very distinct things and I hope they’ll feel very distinct. But there is a similar mentality going into it, which is ‘How can we continue to tell stories with some of the characters that audiences already know and love in a unique way, in a different way, in surprising way, of which we have a lot of plans and ideas and work already going into it?’ [Then] ‘How can we introduce new characters that even hardcore fans, comic fans, have barely known or barely heard of.’ That’s really exciting too.

Some of these films will feature characters that you already know. Some supporting characters will assume leading roles, while some new characters will be introduced. The reward for all of these films working is that we get to try to do it again and do it differently and learn from our mistakes and try something we haven’t tried before.”

Let’s just wait for Comic Con.
