Lizzie Elizabeth Olsen has proven to be a great Asset for the MCU in the significant period of time that she has been in here. Starting from Age of Ultron and moving on to Avengers: Endgame, she is now amongst the strongest members of the team (maybe stronger than Thor). While she was only a supporting character of the team in every film, her scenes in Avengers: Endgame and Infinity War were really the standouts!
Civil War was just a little tease of what Wanda can actually do. Not only is she even stronger than Thanos, but Infinity War also showed us that she can actually hold her own against the might of 5 Infinity Stones altogether, whilst destroying the 6th one! The Snap may have gotten the better of her, but she’s probably the only member of the team who could destroy an Infinity Stone. Even Captain Marvel may not have that ability despite being powered by the Tesseract!
Scarlet Witch is going to become an integral part of the Phase 4 after she gets explored properly in the upcoming Disney+ Show WandaVision. That show will provide her the screen time that we’ve always wanted her to get. Not just that, we’d get to see her relationship with Vision be taken to the next level. So, we can only imagine that this power couple would be a great asset to the next generation Avengers in the Team Up film of Phase 4.
Lizzie has played this character to perfection, even though she’d had a gradual change of Accent over time and more often than not just has to wave hands on screen with cool expressions. But all that is understandable, given the character that she portrays. But there’s a fun discovery that has been made on twitter, which shows us how she actually spoiled Infinity War and Endgame way before Infinity War ever came out. Take a look at this video from 2 years ago combined with footage from the 2 movies:
The sequence starts out with Olsen saying “Then Thanos was like ‘give me the Infinity Gauntlet’, and Scarlet Witch is like ‘I don’t think so… fsssshhhh” Josh Horowitz and Aubrey Plaza are present with her and they’re like – “Woah woah woah, tell me you just did not ruin the ending of Infinity War?” To which Olsen replies, “No, because everyone dies, I thought everyone knew!!”
Well, it was all in good fun, and even though Lizzie’s explanation was kinda vague, it was actually spot on. But she still doesn’t beat how Mark Ruffalo spoiled Infinity War, or perhaps Thor: Ragnarok. Ruffalo just straight up told ‘Good Morning America – wait till you see this one, everyone dies! No only some do!
He revealed that his Thor: Ragnarok incident was the biggest spoiler that he had given away. Along with ScarJo, Robert Downey Jr. & Chris Hemsworth, Ruffalo was being interviewed by Entertainment Weekly. Here’s how the whole interview went:
“EW – What’s the biggest thing you’ve spilled about a movie, Mark?
ScarJo – What about when you streamed the first 10 minutes of Thor: Ragnarok?
RDJ – That’s gotta be it.
Ruffalo – That was the one that got me the call from up high.
Hemsworth – Wait, wait, that was actually genius! There might be some strategy there, because [the audience] laughed so hard during that [footage]. All [viewers] could hear was laughing. They went, ‘It must be good!’
Ruffalo – It sort of turned around on me. Because when I came to work on Monday [on the set of Endgame] everyone ran up to me. I thought they were coming to scream at me — Barry [Curtis, ‘supreme security at Marvel Studios’], he threw his arms around me. ‘That was genius! We got more press than we could have possibly paid for!’”
While we had heard about him accidentally leaking the first 15 minutes of audio of Thor: Ragnarok through Instagram Live, we never actually knew what was the consequence of it all. As it turns out, it all turned out amazingly well for everyone at Marvel. Moreover, Ruffalo actually got praised for doing that. What an amazing life he’s living! Lizzie’s spill was nothing in front of this Legend!
