We Are Not Done With ‘Those Avengers’ Just Yet

Avengers Endgame hit theatres on April 26th, 2019. It was the day of both redemption and struggle as all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe coalesced unto itself in an attempt to undo or accept the events that had transpired in Avengers Infinity War. The entirety of Avengers Endgame was focused on the core Avengers trying to undo the snap of Infinity War. This ensures an epic battle between the forces of good and evil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which carries on for 5 years before reaching an ultimate climax of unparalleled proportions. For anyone who is yet to see the movie turn back now because of *SPOILERS AHEAD*

Avengers: Endgame Clip Infinity Stones

Not only did we see Thanos being killed in the first 20 minutes of the movie, for a substantial amount of time in the movie the audience was being fooled into believing that there wasn’t any coming back from the abyss of Infinity War. We witnessed as the Russos spun a web of an intricate plot to make us believe that every Avenger is expendable and exceptional at the same time.

Avengers: Endgame

We witnessed as all the core Avengers attained new heights in their personal development (by powering up to insane versions of themselves). Thor wielded Mjolnir and Stormbreaker simultaneously, Captain America becomes worthy of the weapon of Gods, and Black Widow lays down her own life in pursuit of the greater cause.

Although we don’t see the last victim of the soul stone’s (Gamora’s) ultimate fate (which seems to be the entire plot of Guardians of the Galaxy 3) we may as well know what happened to both Nebulas and other minor characters. We also saw the return of Iron Man as the centerpiece of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tony sacrificed his own life to eradicate the threat of Thanos and by laying down his own life Iron Man has pave the way for the future.

The events of Endgame have closed off every major subplot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but they have also presented us with a completely new premise. But just because Endgame has concluded it does not mean that we are done with ‘those Avengers’. The one that meet their ultimate fate. Take this post by u/jrteeter on r/Fantheories

We’re not done with ‘those Avengers’ yet from FanTheories

There are major spoilers in the above post and even more beyond this point. So if you have not seen Avengers Endgame, turn back now. The reality of Marvel Comicverse is one where the narrative is focused more on fan service and less on actual storytelling. Without taking away anything g from the writers of Marvel I would only like to say that redditor is correct in assuming that the deaths can be reversed if Marvel deems it necessary. Comic fans have seen it happen over and over and we won’t be surprised if this kind of writing also starts to resonate in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It will surely be interesting to see just how Kevin Feige takes the Marvel Cinematic Universe forward or if there is going to be a MCU anymore outside of Disney+. With the Advent of the new streaming service, it is highly likely that movies will become a place to merely end major plotlines of Disney+ shows. With falcon taking on the mantle of Captain America and Winter Soldier at his side the heroes will work to fill in the gap of Steve Rogers in the world. Both capable individuals will fight against evil forces with the shield of Rogers himself.

Not to mention the tendency of Marvel to use their ‘creative freedom’s to resurrect Characters and prequels out of thin air no matter how much they ruin and over complicate their own continuity. What will phase 4 be like and will we get a new batch of superheroes to replace our Avengers? It still remains to be seen.

Avengers 4 Directors Vision

While a of the major plotlines will continue unscathed there is a possibility that we may see some completely new ones realized into their own movies. Something like a Dark Scarlet Witch movie where she imagines and resurrects Vision to feed her grief or an actual resurrection of Vision at the hands of Shuri. These will all be important aspects of stories yet to come.

What will happen in Phase 4? Do you agree with this redditor or do you have theories of your own, do let us know in the comments below.
