Incredible Guardians of The Galaxy Easter Egg Unveiled by MasterTainment

Looking back, we think it is safe to say that no other team has managed to explore the realm of outer space the way the Guardians of the Galaxy movie franchise has managed to within the MCU. The Guardians consider themselves Outlaws and will do any work if money is involved. But they also have a soul and are known to do the occasional act of kindness if the situation demands it. James Gunn created a fun, vast and a fresh universe for the Marvel fans to revel in. It was humorous, fascinating and of course, filled with an enormous amount of Easter eggs, and subtle hints and teases that lead straight to the comic books. And a famous YouTuber that goes by the name of MasterTainment has managed to find out one such Easter egg that managed to escape everybody’s notice. Presenting – Incredible Guardians of the Galaxy Easter egg unveiled by MasterTainment!!!

Guardians of the Galaxy Easter Egg

It has been years since the last Guardians of the Galaxy movie graced the theatres and we are still looking through the movie, frame by frame, scavenging everything noticeable to find out Easter eggs. That is just how James Gunn rolls. His method of direction can be very evanescent at times. The fact that YouTuber MasterTainment managed to find this egg amongst the web of colors that adorns each James Gunn movie is commendable. This discovery of his thought can even hint at how the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise will play out in the future since it has indicated at the existence of an alien force that are extremely deadly villains in Marvel Comics.

The Easter egg came to Mastertainment’s notice while he was re-watching Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2. In that movie, we come to realize that there exists an entire planet that has achieved sentience and calls itself Ego. Moreover, that planet happens to be the father of Star-Lord. When the Guardians try to stop Ego’s evil plans after it reveals that it intends to absorb all life into a singular existence, they venture into its core, which also houses a lot of drilling ships. The ships are riddled with a mysterious language in the interior control structure. The signage, believe it or not, is not native to Ego. The ships are not even from Ego if the signage is to be trusted.

The language of the drilling ships is a language spoken by the Builders, a hostile sentient alien race with technology far advanced and deadlier than anything the Marvel Universe has ever seen. They are frequently seen coming into odds with several space-based superheroes like Captain Marvel and Quasar in the comic books. The Builders have also come at odds with the Guardians in the comics.

The Builders are also the oldest sentient life form in the Marvel Universe. Jonathan Hickman and Jerome Opena are the ones to be credited for creating the Builders. The alien race played a crucial role in the Infinity comic book arc, that was one of the storylines that heavily influenced Avengers: Infinity War as well as Avengers: Endgame. The builders are yet to make an official appearance in the MCU but this does end up creating a whole world of possibilities.

We now know that the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise will be getting its third instalment now that James Gunn is back in the MCU. So do the Builders become the big bad wolf in Guardians of the Galaxy volume 3? We still do not know for sure. There are a lot of forces at play here. For now, let us just focus on Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame released on the 26th of April, 2019. The official film synopsis of the movie states:

“Adrift in space with no food or water, Tony Stark sends a message to Pepper Potts as his oxygen supply starts to dwindle. Meanwhile, the remaining Avengers — Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and Bruce Banner — must figure out a way to bring back their vanquished allies for an epic showdown with Thanos — the evil demigod who decimated the planet and the universe.”
