Avengers: Endgame Ad Spoils Yet Another Returning Villain

We are literally in the Endgame now as there are just 7 days left before we could witness the once in a lifetime event, i.e. Avengers: Endgame. This is a film that has tried to prevent as many spoilers as it can until the theatrical release, but spoilers have a way of finding their way out anyway. Still, it is good that we haven’t got a whole lot as half of the movie still lies under a big question mark.

There are two ways in which spoilers usually leak. One of those ways is through unknown sources and the second one is through marketing and promotion. Well, marketing is usually responsible for revealing most of them, and we’ve got yet another potential spoiler for Endgame.

This film is gonna be full of heroes, and only Thanos as the sole villain of the film may not feel as fulfilling as we want this film to be. So we’d obviously need more villains to step in as well. There’s obviously the “Greater Threat” that is being teased, and then we have the Chittauri and Outriders returning. Red Skull returned with a new actor for a reason, and he just has to make it to Endgame. Rumors have suggested that Ultron and Hela could also return. Brock Rumlow aka Crossbones may very well make a comeback as well.

So if all these villains do make it back, then we’d have plenty to pit the Avengers against. But there are a few names that we may be missing here, and a new promo ad has probably given us those names, at least one of those. Here’s an ad to Pre-order LEGO sets and Action Figures, and it specifically shows us, Ebony Maw. Take a look:

The problem with Ebony Maw is that he is very dead to be making his return. The chances of his unimaginable escape from the deep confounds of Space are very slim. So his return will have to be through time travel sequences in the past or flashbacks. If that does happen then we may actually get to see the entire Black Order return.

People did complain that the Black Order was underused in Infinity War as they were supposed to be these menacing and powerful villains but instead they were used as rag dolls for the Avengers. It’d be good to get a bit more from them, or at least from Ebony Maw as he is supposed to be the most powerful out of all four. Another face-off between him and Doctor Strange could be interesting, but let’s not big on him getting a huge role upon his eventual return.

Here’s the new synopsis of Avengers: Endgame:

“Thanos snapped his fingers in Avengers: Infinity War, and half the life in the universe instantly dissolved. Now a ragged group of surviving warriors, including Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk works to counteract the Mad Titan’s genocidal action.

Since our heroes couldn’t stop Thanos the first time, what makes them think they can win in a rematch? The answer may be in overwhelming power, thanks to Captain Marvel, or in the tiniest spaces between atoms accessible to Ant-Man. Avengers: Endgame will rewrite the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it. When it’s all over, nothing will be the same.”
