Time Travel is Not How The Dead Avengers Will Return in Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame trailers did hint quite a lot about the plot that will run through the first act of the film. But just like the Justice League maintained a mystery behind Superman’s return, Avengers: Endgame hides one about all the dusted characters. So we don’t know where the dead characters are, or how they will come back to action, or do we? Has Marvel already given us a big spoiler away?

The Ancient One revealed that she couldn’t see anything past her death in the Doctor Strange movie, but the new Sorcerer Supreme went on to witness 14 Million 605 future alternatives. That shouldn’t have been possible if Doctor Strange really died when he was dusted. There can be two possibilities here, either he faked his death or being dusted doesn’t mean the characters died. Now the new Chinese Poster that was recently released showcasing the dead heroes does tease something big. Take a look at this carefully:

Avengers: Endgame Dead Avengers

If you look at the entire background, it could seem like all the Avengers, dead or alive seem to be coming out of the Quantum Realm. Marvel has hinted upon this time and time again, hiding certain details in plain sight. The Quantum Realm has obviously been stated to be the most important aspect of Avengers: Endgame as people assume it to be the key element for Time Travel.

But is it just there for Time Travel? What if Time Travel doesn’t have anything to do with the dusted characters? There’s a major possibility that Time Travel could actually be needed for something related to the Infinity Stones, while Quantum Realm may actually be the key to the return of all the dusted characters.

Avengers: Endgame Dead Avengers

There are some major pieces of evidence for this. The first one of those was seen in the mid-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp. Right at the moment when the Snap takes place and people throughout the Universe begin turning into dust, Scott Lang is present in the Quantum Realm. He gets stuck in there since the Pym family also turns into dust. So at this very moment, we see orange dots of light revolve around Ant-Man as he tries to contact his friends. These dots are believed to be the souls of snap victims that have made their way to the Quantum Realm and are probably getting slowly transferred to the Soul Stone.

It seems that what we’ve been thinking all along is true. The dusted characters did get transferred to the Soul Stone just like they were in the comics. The Russos have picked this reference directly from the pages of the Infinity Gauntlet. The only difference they’ve made is adding the connection of the Quantum Realm. The evidence for the Avengers being in the Soul Stone comes from an exclusive article released by Empire Magazine.

Here’s what they wrote:

As for the Quantum Realm, well, what if those who were dusted didn’t die? What if they were, instead, stored in the Soul Stone, the most important of all of Thanos’ designer jewellery? And what if there was a way to get them back by infiltrating the Stone via the Quantum Realm?

There could be two ways this could be spun. We know that Marvel approves every word they print in any Magazine. So, this has to be coming directly from them. They could either be trying to mislead us as they usually do, or they could be teasing the presence of dusted characters in the Quantum Realm/Soul World.

The Soul Stone does have a connection to the Quantum Realm as in Thor: The Dark World, when the movie plays at 30:28, there’s a conversation between Jane Foster and an Asgardian Doctor that tells us that the function of a soul forge is similar to that of a quantum field generator. So the Soul Stone, in fact, the souls of the snap victims are related to the Quantum Realm and they could surely be present in the Quantum Realm.

In the MCU, Quantum Realm has been featured in the first Doctor Strange movie and the two Ant-Man movies. So, we know that this energy giving realm is either accessible through Doctor Strange’s magic or the Pym Particles. Both of those will come into play when the Avengers try to bring back the fallen heroes from the Quantum Realm.
