Avengers: Endgame –
The arcane Avenger, Doctor Strange, unleashed hell on Thanos when he was the last man standing on Titan, fighting the Mad Titan in a completely one-sided brawl to the death, with the latter holding four of the six Infinity Stones within his grasp. Doctor Strange put up quite a fight. He used all kinds of spells and incantations to stop Thanos. Within a short time, he actually had as a mystical protégé in Kamar-Taj, Strange learned so many things within so little time.
Using that knowledge to his advantage, Doctor Strange defeated not only highly trained rogue sorcerers much more experienced than him but also brought an extra-dimensional god to his knees. Yet all of it felt short when the Sorcerer found himself battling Thanos. But rest assured, this is not the last of what we saw of Doctor Strange. He has a lot more within his bag of tricks. After making his presence felt in three different Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, Doctor Strange has evolved into a force to be reckoned with. After the Ancient one breathed her last and passed on the mantle of the Sorcerer Supreme to Strange, things have been looking up for Stephen Strange.
He has mastered the most difficult of the arcane arts in an incredibly short period. That is a testament to his abilities. After the Ancient One’s departure, Doctor Strange is the only being standing between Earth and dangerous magical forces hell-bent on conquering our world.
A new theory on Reddit claims that Doctor Strange’s latest adventures along with Tony Stark and the rest of the good guys has ensured that he is all set and primed to become one of the strongest magically powered superheroes that the planet has ever seen.
The Russo Brothers – Anthony and Joe Russo, Directors of Infinity War and the upcoming Endgame movie; have always referred to Benedict Cumberbatch’s character as the Sorcerer Supreme. While he may have been called as such, we all know for a fact that Doctor Strange is the Sorcerer Supreme in all but name. He is yet to become the official Sorcerer Supreme of Earth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
There is a reason this theory holds a bit of weight. In Infinity War, we see Doctor Strange traveling across millions of timelines in the future to decide the best possible course of action, which he calls the “Endgame”. The only timeline where Strange and team is rumored to win is the one where Doctor Strange willingly gives up the Time Stone to Thanos. Could it be that the reason Doctor Strange could not fight Thanos head on because he was planning to lose all along?
Is it possible that Doctor Strange was pulling his punches and making it seem like he is the weaker one of the two in the fight against Thanos? Has he decided to use the full extent of his powers at the right time and the right place? He knows the future, right? So all these questions could give us a highly probably answer of ‘YES’.
Avengers: Endgame is set for release on the 26th of April, 2019. The official film synopsis of the movie has been recently released and it states:
“After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War, the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.”
The last Avengers movie to be released under the MCU banner was Avengers: Infinity War. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:
Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artefacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
