Captain Marvel Deleted Scenes Have Been Revealed

Captain Marvel Deleted Scenes:

As is common with almost every movie these days, most of the times some amount of footage that makes the trailers do not make it in the final cut. Justice League was a movie that was butchered because of this. When you talk about the MCU, Avengers: Age of Ultron was supposed to have a longer run time, but a lot the scenes that Joss Whedon shot were cut off and so the film did ultimately suffer a bit. Now, Captain Marvel is a movie that also has a lot of deleted scenes which were apparently there in the trailers and not in the movie.

Just a while ago, we got to know about the fact that 6 minutes were slashed from Captain Marvel as instead of being 2 Hours and 10 Minutes long, it will be 2 Hours and 4 Minutes long. This would have been done to fix the pacing issues in the film and even though we did like the film, everyone could agree that at least 10 more minutes in the film would have actually fixed a lot of issues.

Captain Marvel was a mixed bag of things. It had some great character moments, gave the explanation for a lot of things and worked around the twists really well. But it didn’t dive deep into certain aspects that it actually should have. There were many things that were left unexplained, and those 10 minutes of extra run time may have done the film a world of good.

Deleted scenes from the movie obviously prove that there was more than what met the eye. The shot of Carol Danvers standing up amongst other Air Force pilots was missing. The whole “I’m not gonna fight your War, I’m gonna end it” scene did not make the final cut.

For someone who was anticipating more from The Kree Starforce would certainly be disappointed as the first ever image of Captain Marvel that came through Entertainment Weekly where we got to see Ronan, Yon Rogg, and the Starforce was not in the film.

A Reddit user named BrandonAUS claims that he worked on Captain Marvel visual effects and he revealed that there are a lot of scenes that were cut from the film. Here’s what he said:

“An entire sequence I worked on the vfx for was cut where Yon-Rogg has a chat with the supreme intelligence before he gets sent to go find Carol and the Tesseract

As well as the current ones with Vers and the SI being trimmed a lot.

It is very common for things to be cut in movies. I am waiting for my art book from the movie to show up to see if they have any of the original supreme intelligence concepts in there.”

So all these scenes were obviously cut or altered to make the film work better. But anyone would argue that we could have got more scenes from the Kree World of Hala. We needed a bit more as never has an MCU movie truly established a planet or a new location such as Asgard, Xandar or even Wakanda for that matter. 3 movies into Thor and what we’ve learned is that Asgard isn’t a place, it’s a people. Perhaps we will get more of the Kree Planet Hala in the future.
