Avengers: Endgame Trailer 2 – Where is The Battle Taking Place?
The Avengers: Endgame Trailer 2 brought us some of new footage from the movie. With this film, new footage comes at a premium so we should take everything that we are getting with both hands. The trailer did spend around 40-50 seconds upon old footage, and only about 90 seconds was new, or rather an extension of the footage we’ve seen blended with new scenes.
The Thor moment at the very end and the Quantum Realm suits right before that were the highlights of this trailer, but the scenes we actually loved are ones that show us the battle. Now in this 3-hour long movie, you should expect a lot of battles, but we actually got a tease of at least one of the big battles, if not 2. The trailer showed us snippets of Rocket on Rhodey’s shoulder, Nebula furiously screaming at someone and Captain America strapping his Shield, getting ready for another bout.
This battle here shows a lot of destruction. These 3 shots are probably from the same battle, and perhaps even Thor going into God Mode is a shot from the beginning of this particular battle. But where is it taking place? It has been mentioned that the marketing of this film will not include scenes past 30 minutes of the film. There could be some very small ones from the latter part of the film, but certainly not all of them.
So this battle has to take place in the beginning. The leaked description of Disney Shareholders meeting revealed that the Avengers are looking to take the fight to Thanos. She says that Thanos is at a place called The Garden, and even Rocket says that he is tracking a similar energy signature on a nearing planet that he did when Thanos made the Snap on Earth.
Then there’s another scene where Rocket is flying his ship in space, Thor, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, and Rhodey are also in the ship. So we can assume that this battle is actually taking place on Titan 2 aka The Garden and the Avengers do take the fight to him.
If you take look at the image above, at the top left corner, you can see far back in the view, there are some trees and it almost looks like a hill. The shorts of Captain America, Rocket & War Machine do not really tell us anything. This place seems similar to the barren wasteland, which was Titan. But Thanos is not on Titan. According to Comicbook.com, this place is actually the “Battleworld” from the Infinity Gauntlet Comic storyline.
Another possibility of the terrain in this battle is the Avengers facility itself. The Leaked LEGO sets showed us a battle coming to the Avengers compound as it will get attacked by Thanos and his two armies. But what gives us the hint that the Avengers are fighting Thanos on their home turf is Ant-Man. There are 2 key scenes involving Scott here. One of those scenes which come in at 1:34 in the trailer where we see Scott in his suit, looking at something and a fireball shows up on the window behind him.
This sudden glow on the scene does indicate that the Avengers facility is getting attacked. Another evidence for that is Ant-Man jumping off of a pencil. A pencil can only be amidst a battle when the fight is taking place somewhere near an office. The only place we could imagine that being is, the Avengers compound. We have seen that the Avengers aren’t wearing the Quantum Realm suits during the battles. The Lego leaks did show us the Avengers in their white suits.
So, I’m here to suggest that this trailer actually teased 2 battles going on at two different places. The one with Ant-Man is happening at the Avengers facility and the one with the others is happening on Titan 2, or perhaps the Garden. Let’s see what the reality is.
