Endgame Theory – The Avengers Maybe Going After Something Other Than Infinity Stones

Endgame Theory –

Avengers: Endgame is almost 2 months away from us and it is going to bring the biggest team of The Avengers together. The plot of the movie is still unknown, but we have a clue that Time Travel through the Quantum Realm will be a big play, and the B.A.R.F Tech will somehow be used. But the purpose of Time Travel isn’t very clear to us yet. The trailers haven’t been willing to admit the fact that Time Travel is involved, but the leaked merchandise and set photos have given that part away.

The Avengers Endgame Theory Infinity Stones

It is believed that the Avengers will travel through time to different years of their past in order to take the Mind Stone so the timeline of the past doesn’t get altered. But doing that can be really tough. The BARF tech could be of some aid in devising a proper strategy, but as mentioned, the Infinity Stones just cannot be taken out of the past before the events of Infinity War happen. So, how are the Avengers going to pull it off exactly?

The Avengers Endgame Theory Infinity Stones

According to Reddit user webdevnoobs, the Avengers will not be traveling to the past to collect the Infinity Stones before Thanos, but they will rather go back for something else. Here’s what the Redditor proposes:

“Ant-man, Stark, and crew go on a time travelling adventure not to collect the stones before Thanos, but to collect their energy signatures. Leaving the stones in place does not alter the timeline, and allows the remaining Avengers with a weapon to nullify the stones’ power when Thanos uses them. Tony may build a Stark gauntlet, but full of the collected energies from the stones. This gauntlet will allow them to take the real stones from Thanos in a fight. This is actually similar to the plot of the Avengers Assemble cartoon when they fight Thanos. Here they get Thanos to use stones one at a time while Tony collects the energy signature.

Also, the remaining Avengers encounter Thanos on Xandar while collecting the energy signature from the Power stone. Here Thanos meets Iron Man and Captain America. However, Captain America is killed on Xandar while Tony escapes. This is how Thanos already knows Cap and Tony. Thanos calls out that he knows Tony on Titan. And Thanos seems to hesitate when fighting Cap in Wakanda. Thanos stalls a bit when Cap tries to punch him, not because of knowing him via the Soul stone, but because Thanos already killed him. It was disbelief that caused the hesitation. And he probably killed him in the exact same way.”

Well, The Reddit user does make a lot of sense here, and I do like this theory personally. A certain Plot leak from The Cosmic Wonder has also suggested that the likes of Iron Man and Captain America will travel to Xandar and fight Thanos & his army. So this could make a lot of sense. But there is one thing that I would like to contradict here.

The Redditor suggests that Stark will build a Gauntlet to negate the power of the Infinity Stones, but according to my own Theory, it will not be a Gauntlet. It will be Ultron. There have been hints of Ultron to reappear in Avengers: Endgame, and predictions have suggested that Stark will bring Ultron back in the way he was originally supposed to be built. Ultron was Tony’s Endgame and that is why he was left alive by Doctor Strange.

So, just like the Avengers Assemble cartoon, instead of being a Stark Suit or Gauntlet, it will be Ultron that will be able to negate/absorb the power of the Infinity Stones, and hence Thanos will be defeated. There will be a lot of technical details involved, but this according to me is the blueprint of how the Avengers are going to defeat Thanos.

Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26. Here’s the official synopsis:

“After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.”
