Captain Marvel – Brie Larson’s Salary Reportedly Tops Every Past MCU Hero Debut

Captain Marvel is right around the corner and it will mark the debut for Brie Larson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There are a lot of firsts that are involved in this film. Being Larson’s first movie, this is also the first solo female-led movie of Marvel. It will mark the origin of Nick Fury, Agent Coulson, Ronan and Korath so we can technically say that this is the first time they appeared in the MCU. Talking about firsts, Brie Larson also gets her first MCU Payday for this film and it will surely surprise you.

She is the only Academy Award-winning actress in the MCU, and her casting surely comes from critical prestige. So, her big name has also brought her a big paycheck as the reported salary for Larson to star in Captain Marvel is $5 million. This is much higher than any other MCU actor got for his opening movie. Now you would not believe that Robert Downey Jr., a man who’s Cameos are more expensive than this fee these days actually opened his MCU account for just $500,000.

Iron Man became a fan favourite character and that rose the price for Robert Downey Jr. to an all-time high. Downey’s earnings in 2013 were reported to be $75 Million and the only movie he starred in that year was Iron Man 3.

Reports also suggested that he grabbed a combined check of $80 Million for Age of Ultron and Civil War, so starting from $500k and rising up to these numbers is an achievement anyone would want to have. Well, the least we can say about it is that he truly deserves it.

Last year, reports also suggested that Scarlett Johansson has got a payday of $15 Million for the Black Widow solo movie, and that will make her the one to get the biggest salary for a debut solo outing. But those reports haven’t been confirmed yet. So, Brie Larson stands high in this list.

The fact that the MCU has grown so much has also helped actors to be able to demand a higher amount, and Marvel agrees to pay the actors these amounts of money as they easily make way more than that when their films break the Box Office.
