Avatar 2 Director Confirms Jake And Neytiri Now Have A Daughter

Avatar 2: Jake And Neytiri Have A Daughter!!

The visually stunning world of Pandora was brought to life in James Cameron’s masterpiece of a movie called Avatar. In the movie, humanity is forced to venture to the stars in search of a highly valuable element called Unobtanium. The planet of Pandora, home to a native species of humanoid warriors with a culture reminiscent of the Native Americans called the Na’vi, who are equipped with primitive technology, holds huge amounts of it and Humanity decides to force its hand on the Na’vi and drive them out of their homes.

It is a human paraplegic who frequently transfers his consciousness onto a Navi body named Jake who comes to their aid. In the end, Humanity is driven out of the planet and Jake decides to stay behind along with the love of his life Neytiri.

Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 have already wrapped up filming and James Cameron has confirmed that Jake and Neytiri are no longer just a couple but now a family of three along with the newest addition to their family – a baby girl.

In a podcast for The Empire, James Cameron was recently questioned regarding important details for the new Avatar movies that are about to hit the screens in the near future. After a lot of prying and pleading, Cameron subtly let out one tiny little sentence which is a huge detail for the upcoming Avatar movies. Jake and Neytiri, the Na’vi star couple of Avatar, played by Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana respectively in the first Avatar movie, are now parents.

Empire was in a detail discussion with James Cameron regarding the Avatar 2 project. Cameron claims that Avatar 2 will be set in the near future and will be years after the final events of Avatar. The movie will also feature Jake’s daughter, who would be 8 years old then. One of the primary story drivers of the movie will be Jake and Neytiri’s fledgling marriage, due to the clash of culture and ideology when it comes to Jake’s human roots and Neytiri’s Na’vi heritage.

There’s a three-page argument scene between Jake and Neytiri, a marital dispute, very, very critical to the storyline,” Cameron explained on the Avatar Podcast for Empire. “I wound up shooting it all from the point of view of the eight year old hiding under the structure and peeking in […] Having gone through the experience with [Sam Worthington] on Avatar, I now knew how to write the Jake character going forward across the emotional rollercoaster of the next four movies. It’s been tough on him. He’s done two pictures back to back now, because we did 2 and 3 together. He had to go to some dark places.

The first Avatar movie was released on the 18th of December, 2009. Directed by James Cameron, it went on to gross more than 278.8 crores USD worldwide. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

On the lush alien world of Pandora live the Na’vi, beings who appear primitive but are highly evolved. Because the planet’s environment is poisonous, human/Na’vi hybrids, called Avatars, must link to human minds to allow for free movement on Pandora. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a paralyzed former Marine, becomes mobile again through one such Avatar and falls in love with a Na’vi woman (Zoe Saldana). As a bond with her grows, he is drawn into a battle for the survival of her world.

Cameron was last involved in Alita: Battle Angel, where he was the writer and producer. The movie is still in theatres and the official film synopsis of the movie reads:

Set several centuries in the future, the abandoned Alita is found in the scrapyard of Iron City by Ido, a compassionate cyber-doctor who takes the unconscious cyborg Alita to his clinic. When Alita awakens, she has no memory of who she is, nor does she have any recognition of the world she finds herself in. As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious past.
