Today, we are going to talk about some of the upcoming Superhero shows fans are desperately waiting for but before we talk about that, we have to say that Superhero shows have really made a name for themselves and the success of shows like Jessica Jones, Daredevil, The Flash, Supergirl, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and many others are its evidence. Also, Netflix has been the place where some of the very best superhero shows have made their way. Though we know that not many are in there now, it’s the legacy they maintained matters more. Now, Disney has also introduced their streaming service, Disney+ because television shows and streaming services have been a huge platform for these giants to earn money and for introducing their characters to the fullest. So, here are some new superhero shows which we simply can’t wait to see:
10. Deadly Class:
Well, this one is surely going to be on the lips of Daredevil fans as the fans of a league of assassins, The Hand will surely be excited by the prospect of seeing Deadly Class as this show is about a homeless teen whose name is Marcus and he joins an academy of assassins in San Francisco. It is based on the famous thriller comic book of Rick Remender and the students of the academy are trained with a purpose of becoming one of the top assassins for the most elite and famous families of the crime world. It will premier on January 16th, 2019 only on SyFy channel.
9. The Boys:
Amazon Studios are bringing ‘The Boys’ in the year 2019. The show is going to have a look on the other side of superheroes which is very hard-hitting as it will show the superheroes using their wealth, status, popularity, and influence in the wrong way. The show is going to revolve around seven superheroes who are managed by Vought. It is going to be completely different from everything we have ever seen and is the reason why fans are waiting for this show with too much eagerness.
8. Swamp Thing:
There was a time when Swamp Thing was almost on the edge of becoming part of Justice League Dark by Guillermo del Toro. But, things weren’t in great places and finally, everything is in the balance as we are going to have this show in 2019.
The story of this character is really huge and the lead stars in the show are Andy Bean for the character of Holland, Derek Mears in the character of Swamp Thing, Maria Sten, Jeryl Prescott, Virginia Madsen, Will Patton, Henderson Wade, and many others. It is going to come out in July 2019 on DC Universe.
7. Stargirl:
Well, the famous character which we all know was created by Lee Moder and Geoff Johns, Stargirl is the show which will tell the story of Courtney Whitmore. So, in the show, Whitmore moves from L.A. to the Midwest where she discovers something. That something was a superhero gear in her stepfather’s possessions and initially, she adopted his identity but after getting her hands on Starman’s cosmic staff, it was her who went on to become Stargirl. Stargirl is scheduled to be released in August 2019.
6. Doom Patrol:
Doom Patrol is quite similar to the Justice League and the members of the team aren’t quite popular and well-known. The team consists of Cyborg, Robotman, Mr. Nobody, The Chief, Elastic-Woman, Crazy Jane, and the Negative Man. You can have a taste of X-Men with this as the dramatic universe is going to make its way onto the streaming service of DC Universe.
5. The Umbrella Academy:
This right here is one of the most anticipated series of 2019 as this series follows the life of six completely different members of a family. The story of the series is quite unique as we are going to have a look at the powers and the lives of a dozen of several children from a mother who never displayed signs of pregnancy since 1989. The seven children were adopted by an industrialist, Sir Reginald Hargreeves who wanted to use their powers in order to maintain peace on earth. The series is going to make its debut on February 15th, 2019 only on Netflix.
4. The Watchmen:
We all know that ‘The Watchmen’ movie got a lot of mixed reviews but the characters of the movie were likened by a lot of people and are one of the reasons why they want to take things forward with this series. Alan Moore’s show is going to make its way on HBO. The story of the show deals with a time where the superheroes were considered as menacing elements of a civilized society and are the reason why fans want to see this at the earliest.
3. Harley Quinn:
We have to say that Harley Quinn is a really powerful character because she has been much more than just the girlfriend of The Joker. She has been a menace for Batman as we saw in Batman: The Animated Series which came back in the ‘90s. In the animated show of Harley Quinn, we are going to have a look on her adventures and all the mess she has created in her journey to disrupt the peace in the city and is going to come alongside Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing on the same digital platform.
2. DC Superhero Girls:
We are going to have another DC animation block on Cartoon Network and this time it is coming from producer Lauren Faust again. It is similar to his previous series. The man is going to introduce Wonder Woman, Batgirl, and Supergirl in one frame and will showcase the struggles they face in their daily lives. You can say that the approach is quite similar to ‘The Powerpuff Girls’. The series is going to come in the summer of 2019.
1. Batwoman:
One of the best thing which Elseworlds gave to its fans is the introduction of Batwoman. Ruby Rose is going to reprise her role of Batwoman in the show and the show is going to showcase the life of Batwoman from the scratch of her origins and in the absence of Batman, she is going to be the one who’ll take care of Gotham as she is a trained martial artist with a lot of gadgets with her. The show is arguably the most anticipated show of 2019.
