Jared Leto Returning As Joker In Zack Snyder’s Justice League

2021 isn’t just bringing in Justice for Han. It is going to give us Justice for Snyder & even Jared Leto. Everything that Zack Snyder wanted to do in the DCEU seems to be happening now. His vision will be acknowledged in the greatest way possible. And if his Justice League ends up bringing in a lot of subscriptions for HBO Max, then we can be sure that we won’t just get sequels to Justice League, but we will also get Ben Affleck’s solo Batman project and Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel 2. But before that, we could also get the Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad because Jared Leto is now reprising his role as Joker in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

Last month, we got a report that Zack Snyder will be filming additional scenes for Justice League in October. And that is now happening with the likes of Ben Affleck, Amber Heard & Ray Fisher. But, what’s great is that Jared Leto’s Joker is also being added into the mix. He wasn’t going to be in the film when Snyder was filming Justice League back in late 2016 & early 2017. There was a lot that Zack Snyder was not allowed to use in his Justice League back then. But now, HBO Max is unleashing Zack Snyder upon us and there is no doubt in the fact that we are going to love his cut of the Justice League.

The Hollywood Reporter states that Jared Leto will reprise his role as Joker in the director’s cut of Justice League. Now this could mean two things. The first is that the Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad could be on its way too. David Ayer said that he recently re-watched his cut of Suicide Squad and regretted that he didn’t fight for it. So, that in itself was a tease of Ayer working upon his film once again. And then, the return of Jared Leto further suggests that notion.

The second thing that Leto’s return could mean is that Justice League will be setting up his story arc in the solo Batfleck movie/miniseries on HBO Max. A lot of rumors have been suggesting that talks of Ben Affleck’s Batman project have been happening and the project is supposed to include Deathstoke and Joker.

Joker was referenced in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the fact that he murdered Dick Grayson was also alluded to in Suicide Squad. So, the Batfleck solo project could show us that history. It could show us how the murder of Dick Grayson changed Batman. It could show us how Joker got his teeth bashed in, how he got his damaged tattoo and everything. All this is what Zack Snyder’s Justice League could be setting up. After all, Deathstroke’s original post credits scene was a set up for The Batman, so it could be the same for Jared Leto’s Joker as well. Maybe the two villains could be teaming up.

Along with his return, THR has also reported that Jon Berg & Geoff Johns will not be getting producer credits on Zack Snyder’s Justice League. They were the two culprits of Justice League’s failure, and as Ray Fisher has been constantly saying, they were the ones who made Snyder and the rest of the cast’s life tough on set. So, they seem to be getting what they deserve. Anyway, we’re happy that the true Snyder Cut with black suit Superman, Darkseid, DeSaad, Martian Manhunter, Joker, Ryan Choi & Green Lantern is coming to life on HBO Max.

Snyder has been working upon the project since May. He is redoing the whole Steppenwolf design from scratch and has been adding black color to Henry Cavill’s suit. On top of that, the reshoots also have to be edited and worked upon. So, the Snyder Cut will still take a lot of time to arrive and we shouldn’t expect it before the second quarter of 2021.
