The First Ever Footage From Game of Thrones Season 8 Has Been Released

2019 may be the year for Avengers: Endgame, but it is also the year for Game of Thrones Season 8. 2019 ends many franchises and series, as the MCU is coming to an end, John Wick will end a trilogy, Star Wars will come to an end, The Big Bang Theory will air its final season, but the end we have been longing for almost two years is Game of Thrones. There’s a huge fan base of this HBO show that has been eagerly waiting for the final 6 episodes that have apparently taken a lot of time shoot and develop.

So far, we have not seen anything officially released for Season 8, apart from the Magazine cover of Jon and Danny that you can see above. The show is going to air in April, but still, we haven’t got a trailer yet. Not that it is a problem, as the show can market itself even if it releases the trailer just one week before the premiere. But still, for any project, no matter how big or popular it is, a systematic marketing plan is really essential.

Sure we would not like to see a lot of the footage in the trailers as this season is the most spoiler-prone of all, but at least a teaser about a minute and a half would be fine. Well, it’s not that, but we are in luck as HBO has given us a preview to everything they are bringing out this year.

Game of Thrones Season 8

There’s a tease for True Detective, Euphoria, Big Little Lies, Veep, Barry, Succession, Chernobyl, Catherine The Great, Divorce, The Deuce, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Real Time with Bill Maher, and a bunch of other show titles which took flash speed as the video ended.

But the big cherries on the Pie were HBO’s upcoming Watchmen Series, and most importantly, some footage from Game of Thrones Season 8. We merely got a few seconds of Game of Thrones as the video starts with the Night King flying in on Viseri-off, and then in the middle, we get to see the glimpse of Jon and Danny’s arrival to Winterfell. Sansa shows gratitude with Jon Arrivals and happily agrees to Bend the Knee (something which Jon took a long while doing).

So, things went as we expected by the end of the previous seasons. Jon Snow, the King in the North, and “Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regnant of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons” became allies and so Winterfell would obviously serve House Targaryen.

But there are so many more moments we want to see when the show arrives. The reunion of Jon and Arya, Nymeria and her wolf pack allied with Ghost, Jaime joining Jon and his brother Tyrion, The Golden Army, and a lot more. Just a while ago, it was teased that Jon will in fact find out the truth about Danny. He will come to know that the new found love that he shares is with his aunt, and in fact, he is a true heir to the Iron Throne. This is the biggest moment for us to be waiting for!

Game of Thrones Season 8

This season will have an end that we could have never imagined, but we do know that it is going to be sorrowful for us fans. All this waiting is going to end with tears of pain & joy. 2019 will mark the end of an era.

Game of Thrones Season 8

There’s a loyal fan base for many shows, but the same cannot be said for Game of Thrones. It is a show that has been watched by many people worldwide, and you could even categorize the world into 2. There’s a half that doesn’t watch Game of Thrones, while the second half does. By the time the final season airs, the second half will probably have grown bigger than the first because the hype train for the final season is as big as the one for Avengers: Endgame, if not bigger!

Game of Thrones Season 8 premiers in April, only on HBO. As for the Indians, get a Hotstar Subscription!
