Falcon & Winter Soldier To Introduce A New Character Who Could Partner With Thor

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is revamping the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The show focuses on the aftermath of  Steve Rogers (Captain America) passing on his legacy to Sam. Sam and Bucky have once again become an asset for the governing agency. They are directly responding to Baron Zemo’s threats. But they have more issues at hand. The show is yet to develop more. It’s believed that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will be a darker show to set the tone for future Marvel projects.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has lesser episodes than WandaVision. As a result, it didn’t take long for the show to establish a narrative. Initially, Sam and Bucky were kept apart, leading their own lives. But they were reunited to deal with issues like handling the Flag-Smashers, and second, to deal with the government’s decision of calling in Walker to wield Captain America’s shield.

By the end of episode 2 titled “The Star-Spangled Avenger,” Zemo’s return was set-up, leaving only Sharon Carter as the only confirmed character yet to appear. In a new interview with Rotten Tomatoes TV, however, writer Malcolm Spellman shares that another character will soon debut in the MCU through The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He kept his clues very minimal to not spoil the reveal, but the writer confirmed that they will be coming in episode 5 and would be a good partner for Thor. He said, “There are characters in our series who I would love to see partnered with like – it’s a very, very grounded character – partnered with one of the big world-shakers like Thor or someone like that. The personality is so strong, it’s an episode five character. I’d love to see that character with Thor.”

Marvel is really good at keeping things under wraps in order to preserve the surprise element. But Spellman’s tease, we can believe that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will most likely be Earth-bound for their future shenanigans. The new character will be introduced in the penultimate episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. This particular show will definitely establish Sam and Bucky even further in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It’s possible that it could be someone who has ties to other characters in the franchise who already have an established history. This comes with the fact that Marvel is amazing with continuation, and connecting different timelines. Fans are really excited about Baren Zemo as well. Zemo’s vision is of a world with no superheroes. He drives his hatred from the collateral damage that is caused by the superpowered individuals.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will see Sam focusing and dealing with the fact of who will be the ultimate and new Captain America as he doesn’t want that kind of power to fall into the wrong hands. Meanwhile, Bucky deals with his past. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will determine what kind of future lies ahead for Bucky in the MCU. Where will the Winter Soldier end up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be answered by the said series. We will also see if Sam will finally and completely take over the mantle of Captain America.

Marvel Studios has done a great job keeping the important plot points of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier a secret. Not much is known about the plot and a major chunk of it is still under the wraps. Regardless, it is good to see that Bucky and Sam are building a fun rapport, fighting alongside, as they both have lost a friend, Steve Rogers, and they both are cut from the same cloth.

It won’t be a surprise if we see another Avenger bid us farewell by the end of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier as Marvel has made way for a bunch of new superheroes. More than this, Marvel has done a great job in carrying it out as well. WandaVision set the tone for Marvel’s Phase 4, and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will now carry it forward. It won’t be a surprise if the series lead into something bigger and better.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder star Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. The film arrives in theaters on May 6, 2022. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is currently streaming on Disney+.
